I have spent 10 days in DV, first time we have been there since buying the apartment (block 10). a bit errie no one else in the block, counted only 3 other people only on the development  My impressions are that when the site is finished told by RyF middle to end of 2008 it will be good, very suprised at the amount of development going on around the area and  therefore future saleabilty  / rental ability of the apartment. The entrance to DVis still a mess full of cranes, workman and building materials, block 12 appears to be almost ready - cleaners are in the buildings, gardeners are working on and around the top swimming pool which still has no water, the fountain is not working next to the pool although they have now put up 4 parasol shades, the lower swimming pool is full of water a notice states cannot be used until alterations are made as per EU directive. Just as we were leaving (25 degrees) a crane was being erected on the right hand side of the entrance to start work on the final block. I will attemp to load some photos in the next few days.

Picking up on points raised on other threads - the builders clean is very poor we spent 2 days cleaning to make it presentable, we have requested the marble floors to be completely repolished as it apears they have polished before cleaning the dust off first,  in the corners grounting and other builder mess left stuck in the corners; like others our jacuzzi does not work; patio is appauling in that it has not seen a clean;  nor the lifts. AEA said thes are currently only working in blocks in the lower half of DV at the moment. Had no joy with AEA in getting 2007 budget figures, or minutes to meetings or managemnt fees apparently the fees for block 10 has not been calculated yet!! Rentals opportunity - enquiries local indicate that DVis suffering badly for over supply of renatable properties and those who want to rent want south of the A340 ie within walking distance of the port and DV is seen as too far to walk, we averaged the walk  (did it daily) in 25mins to the port and 35mins on the way back (uphill and wine slowed us)

I have notated the above in a realistic manner not pestimistic - overall when completed it will be a great palce to live  / visit and I believe long term a financial successful investment -  based on the overall quality of the apatments in terms of size, location and quality finishes.

Hope to link up with some of our fellow owners next time we are out in DV in June

regards

Derek & Jacquie
