Hi,

I bought an apartment at Duquesa village phase 2 block 8 back in 2003 but have now been relocated to Asia so cannot use it and would prefer to onsell.

I can see that there were a few posts a number of months ago about people looking to recover deposits and would like to know the names of the lawyers who managed to get a rebate or any other relevant information I need to get a rebate. My lawyers insist I can only recover 50% of the deposit or complete at this point which I will struggle to do due to overseas mortgage rules here.

Any reply post or mails (neil_ware@hotmail.com) would be much appreciated. I get the impression my lawyers think they can take me for a ride as they know I cannot easily come and see them in person.

Thanks for any help,

Neil

Hi Neil

There doesn't seem to be much interest in helping people these days on this forum for people with this problem, I have just successfully obtained my deposit back for a phase 2 apt after changing from a lawyer that was 'in bed with' the developer to a totally independent one. PM me and I can gvive you details of my lawyer if you wish.

Cheers, John

Due to the enormous amount of building happening in the area currently, buying should be seen as at least a medium term (5 year) investment.

Those who are looking for a "fast buck" are in the wrong place and selling on is not going to be easy, certainly not at premium prices.

I suspect that we need to wait until the "Developers" have moved on until any individual investers are going to see a resonable return on their investments.

If you have bought on a short term basis in this area, then you may be dissappointed.

Spanish builders take longer to build than most, that is the nature of the beast, be flexible in this respect or dont bother.

hi there,
like a number of others on this site, we now find ourselves in a position where completion would be difficult.  In our case, we were buying 50/50 with another party who has since declared herself bankrupt!
Our lawyer is taking his time to "try" to recover something.  Does anyone have any ideas? Its interesting to think that this lawyer may in fact be kept busy by the developers and therefore somewhat torn!
If you could email anything you have to
lizzy@theassylum.fsnet.co.uk
thanks
liz and glenn
