ELECTRICITY BILLS

 HI ALL , MY ELECTRICITY COMES FROM BILL O IBERDROLA  , THE LAST PAYMENTS HAVE GONE FROM , FEB 23 EUROS APRIL 47 EUROS JUNE 49 EUROS AUGUST 29 EUROS ,THEN ON THE 20 OCTOBER THEY TOOK OUT 136 EUROS , HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM OR ANY ADVICE AS TO WHY IT HAS GONE UP SO MUCH  CHEERS  MEJAZI10 , 

 Check the bills on the Iberdrola web site, you might find that the previous ones were just the standing charges and the last one is for comsumption.

Noticed a week or so ago that one of our latest electricity bills had shot up for 20th Oct. Normally around €25 unoccupied or €60 - €70 if used but on 20th Oct they took €139, which is far higher than we have ever paid previously?

We also had a jump to about €150 in our last bill which was significantly higher than any previous bills. 

We are in jardines and paid our connection fee a couple of years ago.

My guess is previous charges were for standing charges only or based on estimates.  They may only read the meters once every few months.

Yep my last one jumped up to 109 euros which is twice the normal amount I pay.  The last few bills prior to this last one they were over estimating and eventually read the meter and put my account back on track but with this last bill it has jumped sky high again.....  I will have to check my meter next time I am out because the charges are ridiculous

Well you shouldn't go using the apartment so much neglecting rainy UK!

Electric bills will very depending on use as we all know, and quite often we get estimates instead on actual bills.

However i have just discovered that we have been paying 15.7 cent/Kw + tax since day 1 as a resident, when we could have been paying 11.8 cents /KW

So over past 2,5 years we have paid almost 300€ too much (2 apartments)  thanks to PW who we let set up contract. nothing we can do now, but today we went to Iberdrola office in Puerto Mazarron and changed our contract and  from tommorrow we will pay 11.8 plus tax. seems there are different tariffs.

All i will say is check your bill look at what you are paying and if you wish contact Iberdrola and change your contract.

Wasnt the recent bill for four months and anything previous just standing charge as Iberdrola hadnt come onto the resort to read meters?

Best to check your meter when you get over there.  They read the wrong meter for my bill, over double to what is should have been, I emailed Iberola and they have sorted it out very quickly and efficieintly !

 This seems to be a common problem in the penthouses, a lot of the meters are labeled up incorrectly leading to you getting the bill for one of your neighbours.

How do you read your meter? The door to the meters always seems to be locked.

Your meters could be different to ours.  We can just look through a small window on the door which covers the meters.

Iberola have just credited my bank account with the money I  over paid!!   Now going to check on my tariff to see if am on the right one.
