corvera airport

hi , when will the corvers airport be ready , also how farand how long to get there from condado , many thanks ????

should be ready end of 2011.  i would have thought it be a bout 20 min journey max from CDA,  you can see them starting work on the link roads now when coming back from Murcia

I'm hopeful that might be able to use it Summer 2012.

From previous threads I can remember people who did the drive out to the airport quoting about 25 minutes door to door (in a people carrier I believe).

The big bonus is that hopefully will be easier/cheaper to get to CDA without a car if you're over for a short stay...via taxi/bus.

Drove it last week when we were over. I had been to El Valle for a round and decided to call in on way back and see how they were getting on and also to time the drive. 25 minutes from site entrance to parking spot in J8. All slip roads & roundabouts from A30 Murcia-Cartagena motorway are in place, but blocked off. All new signs for airport are erected but taped over. Access roads all look well on.

The airport itself is still at very early stages of construction. Main concrete frameworks up for terminal building & control tower, but runways and parking, car rental, service areas etc just starting to have heavy earth moving plant setting to on leveling the ground. Lots of big trucks on site and a construction workers restaurant is in place. Good to see things moving along though. It is quite a massive area when you get up close.
