As you say, we are not supposed tohave them.  I think that's a sensible rule as the last thing we need is big ugly dishes springing up all over the resort.  I have, though, spotted some on roof terracesand they can't really be seen from anywhere other than at roof height.  Not sure why you would want a dish though as the system is easy to install without a dish.  Phil Tann (ptan on this forum) can give you some good advice on this.  Prices v good too I have to say.  Arlene

I have just ordered the Polaris digibox for our apartment and it has worked out at £189 (208 euros) approx.  When I bought one for my other apartment they were 400 euros !!!  so they are half the price and it really isn't worth the hassel with unknown suppliers in my opinion (for what it is worth!!)

Its easy peasy  Just send an e-mail to info.telecom@polarisworld.com, it is a one off fee and I ordered mine at the beginning of this week and it was 180 euros plus IVA which works out about 208.80 euros.  I know IVA is due to rise from 16% to 18% very soon but I can't remember what date so depending on when you order it you may get hit with the additional 2% IVA increase.  I ordered it by e-mail, paid by credit card (just sent the details of my card via e-mail) and they fit the boxes on Tuesday's and Thursday's.  They will just e-mail you back with the info

Hope this helps

I have just had a message off ptan he can supply the digi box to your home address for £1o5 +pp delivered to your home address with all the channels available at Condado. Surely this is better than paying all that for the Polaris one?

Also went with PW in each of our families apartments. We reasoned they are tried and tested and will remain contactable. I know some people  always have concerns with PW but I have to say the couple of times we have had anything like a problem ie: one needed resetting and my sister in law just didnt know how to get hers to come on when arriving on her own at the apartment,.  PW techs came out when they said they would and sorted with none of the messing about you hear about when they are involved in property repairs etc. Easily contactable by email and by phone, so on this occasion I give PW my vote even if a tad more expensive than others being touted.

I think the resort rules do say nothing should be attached to the exterior of the properties and they dont want big dishes visible on terraces. I've noticed a few on the resort noteably one bjg one on an upper terrace in the top end of Jardin 8 and you can see it from the ground. They take up terrace space and are ugly to look at- so I hope this new admin company deals with them. But, PW were very slow to get TV onto the resort and RPM didnt deal with anything properly so people are bound to have made their own arrangements.

I agree also, we went with PW for the Satellite TV. My only issue is that we don't have RTE Radio for the Rugby & the GAA matches. I have emailed them to fix this with no sucess even though this station is FTA across Europe. Still we have a million only UK channels on the system and the costs are built into our fees so it;s good value all round.

david, Not in town but I'm pretty sure you will have to support Conax for this to work on your box.

Dave,

The Polaris system in cable, DVB-C, not DVC-S so a Sat box won't work  ( tried )

Hi All, We have just bought and have yet to move in. I was wondering what TV channels are available with the PW service and what the other options may be?

Many thanks

Stuart.

The Polaris box gives you the usual channels you get on your digital channels in the Uk plus some more and if you happen to understand, German, French etc you have programes from there too.  You also get UK radio channels. Sorry there are so many I can't remember but maybe someone else can fill in what I have forgotten.

These are some of the english speaking channels I had from Polaris TV during last summer, I have shown BBC Northern Ireland but the other regions were also avaiable. There were also the usual RTLs etc. Disney was from spanish cable but you can set the audio language on the digi box.
