URGENT MESSAGE TO EVERYONE OWNING A PROPERTY ON PLAYA GOLF ll

We have a problem.

The administrators are not doing their job properly and I believe that we need to change administrators urgently.

This will require calling an emergency meeting of the owners.  Nobody seems to know who the President is at the moment - if anyone has this information could they please forward it to me.

Otherwise, I think we will have to re-elect someone in her absence, until we can find her.

If anyone would be prepared to take on the job of President, attend a board meeting or conference call maybe would be OK, to get this huge problem sorted out.

It would appear that the pools are being closed, one by one, as the electricity is not being paid.  The resort is scruffy and unkempt, lights are broken etc.

We have had an administrator at Villa Martin recommended to us by another part of Playa Golf who have already switched to their services and say that they are very good.

Anyone who can come forward as an owner on Playa Golf ll, please get in touch so that we can sort out these problems together

Many thanks

and Best wishes

you can email me on nikki@playagolfresorts.co.uk

JUSTIN!!!! - If you should read this, maybe you could contact me, I know you are very busy, but this is an emergency and it would be really helpful if you could send an email to your database alerting playa golf owners to this posting

many many thanks

Hi Nikki - just to clarify the situation, it is R5 and R6 pools (I think) which are closed at the moment.  R1 & R2 is fine and the two on either side of Calle de Cipres are also fine.

I have been told that there is not enough money in their community funds to pay for the electricity and it has therefore been cut off.  No electricity - no pump - no fresh pool water.  Both the pools in question are green and stagnant and this will cause a major problem for the whole of Playa Golf II as it gets hotter and the mozzies breed in the stagnant water.

It will also be difficult for people to let their properties in the summer if there is no access to a pool.

It is very difficult to run the communities here with non-resident presidents and I think this is the problem with these two communities.  There is actually quite a lot of work required day to day to keep things running, although none of it is rocket science!  You need a few interested people who are resident in each community to keep on top of things, to ensure that owners pay their community fees and to push the administrators into action when required.  Here on R1 & R2, I would be happy to support anyone who put themselves forward for President or committee members to get your communities back into a good condition as it will benefit us all.

We are in the process of talking to new administrators as Grupo Mediteranea (?spelling?) are hopeless.  Again we would be happy to share our experiences with others thinking of changing too.  However, your first priority has to be to get in touch with owners and try to find some residents who are willing to do a bit of work  here on the ground.

All the best.

 Hi everyone,

I am currently the President of the R6 section of Playa Golf 2.

I was one of 3 owners who bothered to attend the 2008 AGM and was the only one prepared to take on any role in our community even though I live and work in the UK.  I am keen to get in contact with other owners in the R6 section as at the moment I am only in contact with 18 where there are over 80 properties.  My e-mail is ladybiker729@aol.com

Regarding the swimming pool - it is out of action because the water bill has not been paid.  When I first contacted the Administrators they were sure it was all paid up and had produced proof of payment to the water company however it was an outstanding bill of 3000 euro for a water meter not shown to R6.  The water company have agreed to accept payment in installments and the pool will be running again in the next few days.

There is however not enough money in the R6 account to pay all of the payments as to date only 19 owners have paid the community charge from 2008.  I understand many of the owners being peeved by the state of the pool but we cannot expect things to be maintained without paying for them.

The next AGM is coming up in September, please contact the Administrators for details.  Hopefully there will be good attendance this year and residents will volunteer to take over the committee roles.

Can I encourage any owners who are not sure whether they have paid or have not paid to contact the Administrators as a matter of urgency to arrange payment of the community charge so that we can keep the pool running over the summer.

Regards

Fiona - President R6

I came across this thread when looking for further details on the apartment location where myself, my husband and our daughter are staying in july. We have rented an apartment through overseas keys and weren't really clear as to where we were going to be based. Finding out now how far out were are from the beach and the main strip we are concerned that without a car we are going to struggle leaving the complex. Can you tell me if there are any bus routes from playa golf area and what amenities there are in the local area? In britain our daughter would use a car seat and i'm worried that if we have to use taxi's then it will be dangerous for her. Also, is the pool issue sorted? i spoke to the rental company and they said 3 are not commissioned?? does this mean they are empty or like swamp water? don't want our holiday to be ruined by swarms of mossies.

Thanks, Joni

Hi Joni - sorry you didn't get any replies!  I am just back after my holidays and hope this gets to you in time.

Firstly, I am told that the pools which were closed are now OK again.

Regarding transport, there is a bus which runs past the development and this will take you either inland or to the beach, bars and restaurants.  We actually have quite a nice range of bars and restaurants on the development and a supermarket too.  My favourites are the San Fransicso bar and the Auld Dubliner pub and the Don Mariano and Aladdin restaurants.

The strip is a five minute drive away and you can get a taxi easily - there you will find many more bars and restaurants and the beach is just a few minutes further.

Have a great trip!
