hi. i am living in R1 and the breaking ins are regular. and the burglars are  two of them english, and one of them a young buy foreign. the young have a black pegoute. i think the young works with the builders because i saw him there regulary.
I couldnt get the registration number yet, but just watch out everyone.
The broke in through the back, just smashed the window in and climbed in, and the day before they broke in to the groundfloor apartment climbed up on the aircon and went in through the kitchen window. they can easily pop that.
3 weeks ago on an other flat they went in with a key.
so just have the alarmes sorted, because most of the apartments has got the alarmes inside just not been installed fully and they dont work.
and get grilles everywhere even in the washroom  in the back of the kitchen.
they dont go to empty houses only to the one where is people on holiday.
most of the break ins happened just a couple of hours after they got here, and went out for dinner, or the next day when they went out.
so if you are on holiday take all your cash with you they dont really want anything else.
Well, not normally but actually on sat night they went in one of them they toke after shave, cash, pair of trainers, a pair of knickers (yes you read it right.how sick is that?),mobil phone, the hire car, and all sort of things but left the passports the ipods, the psps.
So just be very careful, and watch out for the black pegout!!!

Hi Bambi

New to this so thank you for letting me on your forum - I am a Playa Golf owner through Inside Track who has suffered under Bridge Holmes - just a bit of background.  Anyway,

Well done - good tips there - and you are absolutely right

All properties must have grills and shutters properly fitted to keep them secure and your tenants must be warned to take all valuables with them and use their grills and shutters every time they leave the apartment.

We had some tenants staying who blatantly and carelessly left stuff lying around and guess what - they got targetted - fortunately the day they did, they had used all of our security and bolted up the property properly so the burglars didn't actually gain access.

It really is a problem and the hassle trying to get an insurance claim sorted out is immense - I speak from bitter experience
So, if you haven't got those grills fitted yet then I would strongly suggest you get it sorted out quickly

Best regards and thanks once again - look forward to swopping news and views with everybody on here

Nikki
