It sounds like you are using someone like Telemicro for your sky TV, or what's known as a  'Re-Broadcasting' company.  

Sky are clamping down on these rebroadcasting companies who basically rebroadcast them illegally without a license.

Is your dish a square mesh type?

You can still receive Sky TV using a Dish and receiver, although you would need close to a 2m Dish to get BBC and ITV.  With a smaller dish you can still receve a number of FreeSat channels.  I'd say a 1.2 m dish being the smallest you could probably use.

One other thing, if you are already using the normal dish and receiver (and I've misunderstood your problem) then I'd say your dish or LNB has moved.

Hi Waggy - I'm with Telemicro and lost a few channels for a few days.  They seem to be back now OK.  There's been lots in the local press but whatever the real issue was, it seems to have been sorted out. 

Another problem I had was that when the subscription was due to be renewed it put a message up on screen as a reminder.  By the time my renters and the management company reacted, they had cut off the service.  Just something to watch out for!
