Help needed at the local dog refuge

Thank you so much I recieved the money for the bones and yes you can transfer money when you like and i will pass it on directly. Always let me know when you have sent some so that I can pass it on and not spend it accidently. Thanks so much Joan.

I will get back to you about the rest as im currently keeping my eye out for a greyhound that is running around Taray. I havnt seen him but a few people have and i would really like to get him to the refuge as they say he is very skinny. (If anyone reading this sees him and can catch him please do and I will be happy to take him from you and get him sorted). Thanks for all your support Joan, the video you put together has had a real impact and is raising awareness of the terrible time greyhounds have here.

Have you been able to get someone to receive the letters by fax, you might be interested to know the involvment from British Columbia  information that I have recieved, On the television at the moment on Gold channel is an advert between programmes about animals being badly treated abroad and they show a greyhound and others, its so sad. has that little one been given a home yet the sprinter,

Yes i did get a fax number, my neighbour but need to ask her again as she went home for xmas. will see her today and ask. Yes am definately interested to know and see the letter. No, little sprinter doesnt have a home  yet, ive been walking her on really long walks when i go, sometimes 1hour or more hehe!

Sorry to hear that sprinter hasn.t got a home yet, thats all the poor thing wants isnt it. I won't be over until the 12th July unfortunatly, we are foster carers, and have had a few problems, how are the facilities coming on do you have any ideas when they will be finished.

Although we are over late, we will be back again in August, and Christmas hopfully, need to get a passport for Clancy, and  work out wether to fly or drive, can't bear the thought of her going in the hold, she is such a big dog, does anyone know how the best stress free way is. has anyone got any up to date pictures

Thanks for a great morning. I  really did enjoy walking the dogs. If we lived here I would be eyeing up a couple of those little pooches to adopt. I still find it hard to think that those friendly dogs have all been abandoned. What really took me by suprise was how many dogs there are there. Well done to all you volunteers and staff at the rescue centre. You are all doing a terrific job.

Please could i collect donations of bags of white rice. With so many pregnant ones coming in the refuge struggles with the specialist food for the puppies. Big or small it will be appreciated.

A few people have asked for my help the last 2 weeks over the greyhound wandering our village. Well im pleased to say that  6 chicken legs, various sandwiches and a pizza later I managed to get her today with the help of 3 teenagers and a 7yr old girl from the village. She was really frightened but after time with me I think she would have liked to stay but is now in the refuge where she will wait to find a new home.

If the two girls and the boy see this as they were english I just want to say thanks so much for your help and sorry you didnt get to eat your sandwiches or that yummy pizza............ i think the greyhound was very satisfied tho

Don't know how they cope with all the additions at the refuge, I have put things away to bring that you maybe able to sell at  the refuge car boot sales, this week I will be putting some money into your bank over here, so let me know when you recieve it  will be doing this monthly, only wish the refuge could give them a better diet, but with som many it must be difficult. Keep up the good work,

Hi

Had 3 bags of rice to take this morning but could do with loads more for the wee pupyips. Even just a small bag for 50cents helps.

The greyhound who went in the other day that had been living on the urb seemed really happy with the occasional tale wag and leap in her step, which for a greyhound here in Spain is great progress in just a few days. She just wants love, food and water. Shes lovely !

Between friends and I we have got 4 dogs (2 of them puppies) to the refuge in just the last few days. There seems to be a real surge of abandoned pups at the mo. I wonder if they are being dumped on the urb or finding their way here. I would have thought the pups were dumped here. Nightmare!

We have a website now for the refuge. This site was set up by a German volunteer who manages to get most of the dogs adopted in Germany so the information is all in German but the photos are just as important. Photos are currently still being loaded and as there are approx 200 dogs it will take a while. Some of you might recognize some of the dogs that were found on our urb!!

Can anyone help these little cuties who are desperate to leave the refuge?

Can anyone offer Zigy a loving home? He is fully castrated, vaccined, approx 3/4yrs and walks well on a lead.

Clyde is a handsome Rottweiler cross born December 2009 (estimate) He is a big, strong boy weighing in at 46kg.  However, Clyde is very loyal, friendly and playful and loves a lot of affection.  He walks quite well on the lead and is fine in the car.   Clyde would be a faithful family pet and protector but needs a calm assertive and experienced owner used to handling large powerful dogs.
Please circulate this post as there is a chance he will be put down.

A big thanks to Marg and Dave for helping me out with this little puppy at 1am this morning. She had been left at the leisure area and was found crying and distressed. Approx 4mths, who will home this beautiful girl?
