Hi Jill,

That's what I have done, got 1 unit living/dining area and 1 in each of the back bedrooms. I did'nt get 1 in the small bedroom. We had the in-laws staying last week in the bedrrom and they said it was fine, was'nt cold in there room at all. It also helps that the sun shines on that bedrrom during the day . I got 3 interior and 2 exterior multsplit pansonic from Gary. Hope this helps

Hi Margaret

I have a three bed room in Jairdin 2 and have got the air con from Gary. The system you are talking about is what I got. I think it works adequetly. The small room I think does not require it as the power of the unit in the main lounge is so high. I would also take Gary up on the surge protector as because of continuing construction if a builder damages an underground cable and causes a power surge it could potentially blow the air con units. Best of luck

David

Hi All,

We are having our air con fitted by Gary at Polarair next week. In our 3 bed, he did suggest that we could get away with not having a unit in the 3rd bedroom, but we weren't too sure if we would be ok with this.  In the end we decided to go for unit in all bedrooms, as we thought if we have it, we don't have to use it, but if we don't, we have no choice.  So we ended up going for the Panasonic E-ion inverters 4 x 2 split.

Just a point of interest for Los Naranjos buyers.  He told us that for some reason PW had only put 5 interconnecting cables in our apartments as opposed to 7 in the Jardines, so this restricted our choice.  We probably would have gone for the Pansonic anyway, so didn't make any difference to us. June

Hi June

The Panasonic E-Ion inverter units are the best that you can get - there are other cheaper ones but they are not as good.

My husband is an air conditioning engineer in the UK and wouldn't even consider installing some of the cheaper units - Fujitsu and Daihatsu are not as good as the Panasonic.  As with everything, you get what you pay for and the cheaper units will probably not last as long, they are more expensive to run and much noisier.  The Panasonic units are really quiet - great if you need to leave them on at night in the hotter months.

Gary at Polarair is very good - his prices are very competitive.  As we were doing two apartments, he gave us a discount so would have thought he will do the same for you, assuming you are doing both your apartments.

Debbie

Hi Debbie,

It's nice to know that the units we've chosen are good ones.  You are right about the discount,  we did get one for both apartments, but as it was the 3 bed that Jill was asking about,  I only mentioned that.  We do have the seperate prices for each apartment.

As Paul is an air con engineer, I take it he understands about the 5 or 7 interconnecting cables?  Must admit it went over our heads and, as I said we had more or less decided on the Panasonic E-ion anyway, so just went with it, although Gary did explain it to us.

Also have to add that so far we are more than happy with Gary and his advice etc. obviously we can't comment on the installation because we don't get to see it till next week. Yippee!!!  But with all the people on Condado that have used them so far, including yourself, with a bit of knowledge, it seems there is only praise so far for him and his company, so we have no doubts at all that we have gone with the good guy

Hi Debbie (Payton)

Funnily, Gary advised us not to go with Panasonic as you were only paying for the name, he said that the Daitsu and the Fujitsu were just as  economical to run and would last just as  long if not longer.  We didn't pick our aircon on price but what was recommended to us, and Panasonic was last on the list.  Expensive doesn't always mean best.

Hi Ali,

Can only repeat that my husband is an air conditioning engineer here in the UK and has a lot of experience of the different kind of units.  Based on his own experience over many years, he was of the view that we should go with Panasonic but he also spoke to Gary on the phone at length to discuss the various options. Gary agreed with him that the Panasonic units were the best.

Not suggesting for one minute that the other units are no good but only posting the advice of the experts in an attempt to assist those who have no knowledge at all of air con units, splits, multi splits etc etc.  (including me!)  But all I can do is repeat the advice that my husband has based on his own expertise and also that which was confirmed by Gary.

Hi all,

We had our aircon fitted by Gary last Friday.  We went for a 3:2 split Panasonic system.  We tred the system out Friday night when it was cold on Condado. The system was excellent, heating uo the apartment very, very quickly.  I went for this system based on the energy performance & quietness  at night  - as I am a very light sleeper  - coupled with future spairs & servicing flexibility. I can vouch for the quietness of the Panasonic system - on sleep mode you could hardly detect any noise at all.

I have no idea how it performs alongside a Daitsu or Fujitsu units, I am sure they are good too - but Gary did advise us to go with Panasonic - saying " you get what you pay for ".  Judging by what he said to Ali, it appears he says different things to different people - judging by what he thinks they want to hear I guess?

However,  following our test last week anybody who has fitted the Panasonic units will be very satisfied with them

Skell

Hi Nick and Deb,

First of all, congratulations on your completion!  Sounds as though you had a hectic few days!

Like you, we tried our Panasonic units for heating the apartment at night when we were over last weekend and were really pleased with how quickly they warmed the apartment up.  We wanted to try them out for heating before deciding whether to invest in radiators for the winter months, but we are now satisfied that we don't need to go to that expense and that the units are sufficient.   We obviously tested them for cooling in August when it was absolutely scorching at Condado, and they were brilliant.

As you say they are really quiet - an absolute godsend if you need to leave them on at night, either in the summer to keep the apartment cool or in the winter for heat.

Don't really understand why Gary would give different advice to different people, unless at certain times he is getting a better deal on certain units?  Our decision was based on my husband's experience in the trade, which was confirmed by Gary.

Bet you can't wait to get back to your apartment - but perhaps this time with a little less driving and a lot less shopping!

Debbie

Absoloutley bang on Debs..........wish I was there now.........got depression this morning.

Really pleased to hear of your feedback on the Aircon.  I am pleased we went for the Panasonic units now.  I think your assessment on Gary's advice is probably correct.

Hope to meet up with you soon

Nick

I think he gives different advice according to different needs.  We had already told him what we wanted from our aircon, but then we found out about the problem of only having 5 interconnecting cables instead of 7, so that cut down the choice a bit.  We had 9 packages suggested to us,  all but one was Panasonic.  These were packages that met the criteria  that we had.

Glad to hear you were snug as bugs when it was cold.  Have been in apartments that had aircon with heating and it's been next to useless, but a friend had new units put in last year  and it was brilliant.

Hi Cath & Kevin

We used Gary @ Polar Air for our 2 bed apartment - we had 3 indoor units (bedrooms & living room) and 3 outdoor units. These were Panasonic Inverters and the cost including surge protection was €2,100.00

Gary is extremely helpful - he couldn't connect the surge protector until we're off builders electricity but he's left the equipment with us and will come back to do it once the power is connected up to the utility supplier.

He has fitted lots of apartments on the Jardines and does a very good job.

We're on Jardine 4 and back out early December.  From what we've heard from friends out there, we may be using the units for heating!
