Just got back from near to 2 weeks in DV. Our first real holiday there- fantastic
Updates
- road surfacing not started !
-service road between swimming pool and block 2 gone and very attractive path laid, saw all RF big wigs there yesterday I think -they are looking at putting a path right to bottom- so we can get to bins
-Met lots of owners and all seem a great bunch,  really pleased to meet so many of you , all willing to help each other
-Agree not fair to have AEA office next to apartment, but a seperate office wil be great.
-Natalia in AEA office is fantastic, very helpful, hope we keep her
-Issue  - and I do not know answer- think we need more sunbeds around pool and a few more shaded "trees" to sit under, what to do about towels on sunbeds and thats them "booked" for the day! I may be sad but I timed !! 3 and a half hours with towels on beds and no one there, that is in my opinion unfair when no others are available. Being reasonable is the answer !! maybe we need a rule if longer than say 40 minutes then cannot save !! but this will lead to bad feelings, something we do not want, but give it some thought.
-Also bringing dogs into the the pool area is not on, and then wanting to let them swim- well!!, credit to Life guard who pointed out-  and said no
Life Guard is an asset, he kept pool tidy was freindly, as he will get to know who is actually staying there and may be able to "discourage" others that turn up- maybe he could fold up towels left on sunbeds !!

I agree witht he towels - 40 mins and then they are politely folded and placed to one side if no owner in evidence.  Dogs in pool - yikes!

Glad you enjoyed, we are out there next week and cannot wait.

As far as the towels are concerned I would fold them up and put them aside.

I have made a request for more sunbeds but alas nothing as yet.

The dog issue is a new one...not seen dogs there and we should all point this out to the owners and if necessary get security to sort it out.

Very good point on the Sunbeds.

Even in a previous stay at the end of April there was only one free sunbed at the large pool.  So what will it be like in  July / August ??

As for towels  I shall just fold them up and put them to one side.   (Do we have many German owners in DV   )

But if we had enough sunbeds  people would not feel the need to  attempt to reserve them.

DOGS in the POOL AREA.   NO NO NO.  At least not when I'm there.

Dogs in Pool ?  I suggest the dog owner can pay for the pool to be emptied and refilled !!!

That's got me wound up.   But I know what dogs owners are like.
I've heard that some even sleep with dogs on/in their beds.
And this morning I read that one leaves $12m to their dog in their will.

regards,
Paul

Another point I noted last week is that we have a few dead palm trees around the site.

Note sure of the cause but it may be the dreaded red palm weevil that is plauging the area.
In which case we have a cost of dealing with it.

I would suggest replacing them with some other species.

I was very peeded off on Sunday ..around lunch time when I saw  2 Spanish reg cars drive up to  the  smaller pool gate by block 4 .....and a procession of 7or 8 people walk over to the large pool, I kept an eye on them when they left in the evening and they got back into their cars and drove up the road, either these people are incredibly lazy and drive to the pool from the top of the hill or they are just free loading... The pool is very busy at the moment and beds are limited, its just not on!!!...we're all paying a lot of money in community fees and these people are laughing at us!!.....I cant see  this new "barrier " will help!..they could just park at the top of the road outside DV and walk in if we dont get proper gates that keep people out....If you look around the area all the estates have iron gates with no access to the public...I have also been told Coto Real have lovely big gates going in....

In this case i would ask security to check who they are or the pool attendant to see their keys.

Suggest you refer this to Natalia at the AEA office

If there any further occurances and it is between 10 and 2 you could ask Natalia to come down to the pool and investigate immediately

I am in DV now and can confirm that on Sunday at least a whole load of Spanish families appeared in cars and came to the pool for the day.  The life guard and the gardeners appeared to know them bu tof course this may just be because they are Spanish residents of DV.  I couldn't be sure they had come from off site.

Just spoke with my wife who tells me that the ashfelting seems to have been done to a reasonable standard and that the
ashfelt on the pavements seems to be from that picked up on peoples shoes.
The abandoned Merc outside our block has been towed away and she thinks the other abandoned cars have alos been moved.

On a more serious note a group of people took wine bottles and glasses into the pool area and the lifeguard was reluctant to do anything about it except to say that he would arrange for notices to be displayed warning against this.
I think it is time that AEA posted a notice with some clear rules - no dogs, no glass.

Michael
