Spain is full of globos - balloons - whether kiddies' party balloons or of the hot air variety.
Where we live, just outside Ronda (Málaga), you often hear the burner of a hot air globo as it flies over our house and garden. This happens mainly at the weekend, all year round if the weather is favourable.

Two blew over last Friday during Ronda's Feria de Pedro Romero. None on Saturday or Sunday, however, probably because it was overcast.
Personally, I've never had the pleasure of taking a balloon ride, although it's on my 'bucket list'. The issue is the cost. Maybe my family will 'club together' to buy me a flight for my 80th birthday in four years' time.
As for party balloons, they appear regularly and not just for children's parties.
Spain being a country that has more fiestas than most, there is always an excuse to put up decorative balloons.
Weddings, too, often have a lot of balloons in evidence and so do grand openings of new hotels, restaurants and the like.
