Mains Isolator

It may have been mentioned earlier but cannot find it?

Has anyone the latest news re. a mains isolator that MUST be fitted in all houses, next to the circuit breaker boxes, or suffer severe financial penalties?

This is to ensure that allocated supplies are not exceeded, I understand.

My house was built in 2004, so am not sure if one is there or not? Phoned the company that installed all the electrics on our Urb., who promised to ´phone the next day to give a time for a visit to check. Guess what, no call of course, as usual!

It shows the circuit board , the mains isolator or ICP can be located to the left or the right of the household fuses. This isolates the elecricity supply to your house. Most newer preoperties have them already fitted.

Thank you Laird Dave, you have put my mind at rest.

We have the ICP switch fitted in a separate box to the left of the main fuse box.

However, owners of older fincas, etc., should be aware of the requirement.
