Just a word to warn anyone in and around La Linea or Gibraltar that the incredibly brave scumbags have started mugging and attacking people again.  The attacks have started up again in the last 6 months, the latest being one of my colleagues on Sunday morning 31/08/08.  He was taken to hospital, plus they took his phone and house keys.  They were so brave; ALL 6 OF THEM!  I was attacked in June 2006 and then, after many more attacks, the Gibraltar government arranged a meeting with the Mayor of La Linea who promised increased vigilance and cooperation from the police.  It did stop for a while so I would say these pigs are a new bunch of morons who are so macho they even beat up women.  Most of the attacks take place in the early hours of the morning between the frontier and the streets around the town centre. My friend was attacked by the Mercadona in Calle San Jose.

Sorry to hear of your ordeal with these pathetic scumbags!

As you said, it takes six of them to have the courage to do what they do!

I assume that they are European, probably Eastern?

In any case the Police should step up their patrols and lay a trap for them, then they could catch them in the act and bang the lot of them up in a Spanish Jail.

Wonder if they would be so cleaver then!

Mate of mine was mugged there last Friday night - filth (them not the mate). Thankfully no serious damage done but pretty traumatic experience nonetheless.
