Hi Falklands - Im not sure I fully understand your point here?

Are you saying that they ARE a proven scam and if so - why?

I have checked them out and they seem legit to me (though I have no evidence of how successful they are).

Look forward to your response.

Thanks

Jon

hi. Jonpaul, sorry the post replies will not allow me to give full website details at present , but if you go to our main website cyprusvillas , you may need to search google for villaa in peyia then just look for our site on page 1 . you can send an e-mail to me from there, then i can converse with you from there. even if it just gives you some ideas it will be worth it. Hi John Paul

Just read the rest of the posts about them here on eye on spain.

type readyrental property scam into your browser and see what others are saying.

All I am saying is Beware of any company who asks for Money up front.  If they really can find you lots of potential renters (which I Doubt) why can they not just deduct a commission ???

Hi Falklands and the rest of you guy's searching for the rental info...... i totally agree, any company we deal with tends to get you bookings first, ok there may be a small charge of around 30 /50 euro,s to set everything up for the web pages etc , but under normal circumstances that can be dealt with .. The way we operate is simple and i am quite prepared to give anybody our experience F.O.C , but would suggest 2 things first, 1 / whilst it is important to get rentals it is more important to look after them when they arrive , we are operating this year on 43% return clients and this has to be your goal, the returning client is what its all about, if you go through ready rentals and other similar companies you are just giving the client to them and you have no guarantee of a return client base to your property. 2 / have you thought about your own marketing of the property ? it is even possible for a collective group of owners to form their own rental site, Yes it can be expensive to start , but if 6 /7 people with properties in the same region do it together then this potentially would work, why spend 500 + euros looking for the one off rental when you can promote yourself consistantly. And finally, ensure you have a good reputable and registered property management company. nip any problems in the bud and your client stays happy, have joe soap next door looking after the property and you will soon encounter pproblems...... Hi Tony

I apologise if my any posts inferred that your company was less that kosher. Although i did not mention it .That was nortmy intention
I am just trying to make people aware of the risks these days of parting with cash to companies who offer lots and deliver little.

Hello Falklands, No apologies needed, these type of forums give me and my collegues great insight into the nerousness of owners and help us to alleviate any concerns they may have. There are a lot of scams " so to peak " or on the face of it seem to be, but there are also a lot of genuine small companies out there trying to help. the key is ( as if you were conducting an interview ) take references both from other owners but especially rental clients. if anybody is worth their salt they will give you an e-mail address to contact. We do, as i mentioned earlier 43% of our clients are returning and that has to be your aim from the outset. Every area, country is different , but i am sure has similar points of contention, here in Cyprus is potentially like Spain 15 years sgo, we are littered with " joe Bloggs " purporting to be professional pool cleaners, property managers, trademan etc who have never seen the tools of their trade before. We also have several rental companies or individuals who are either not registered or illegally working , not paying relevant tax etc, but most importantly they are not insured. This is putting everybody at risk especially you the owner and the potential rental client. My advice to everybody is you get what you pay for , dont rent without the relevant back up, the management company is you eyes on the ground and the clients first point of call, ensure this is a good quality company who can respond with speed and professionalism, a company who has their own people not a contracted workforce. Yes i hear a few sinister thoughts from people thinking self proclamation, Yes we cover all aspects of property management here in Cyprus , But , our main business is rentals and 43% returning clients seem to agree with our ethics. Take your time appointing a good company to look after your interest, go with your instinct and where possible meet the company on their doorstep not yours, this may give you a better insight into the kind of operation they have and how they handle clints. Most important of all ensure the company is registered paying the correct taxex and never go for a cash in hand situation . Dont ever leave yourself exposed. The right compoany will advise you on all aspects of rentaing and guide you with reference to E.U rules and regs.... ITS NOT AS STRAIGHT FORWARD AS MANY THINK...... Good luck everybody Tony

I had a good chat with Tony and will be meeting with him next week when I go over to Cyprus, to understand more about their service and whether they can help me.

Regarding ready rental property, I have been negotiating with them to take their fee from the 1st 3 bookings they get, but in the end, they were not willing to do this.
Hence, I am holding off for now, until I am more convinced about their service & their claimed success.

Still haven't found anyone who is using them who has actually received the cash in the bank!

Afternoon one and all. Like a lot of people I have been contacted by RRP to rent my place in Portugal and like most I was unsure. That said  I have been paying a small company in Vilamoura 60 euro's a month for 12 months to "manage" my property and this year I have had absolutely nothing in fact I got more bookings from owners direct and word of mouth (this was my first year renting). After due consideration I decided I could not do any worse than the local company I used and as such I have signed up with RRP, I have been offered the usual 2 weeks rental (guaranteed they say) they even gave me the months. Sooooooo people I am the forum guinea pig and I will keep you informed of how things go, wish me luck and happy new year.

Hi Everyone - I too have taken the plunge (after much deliberation) & so far so good.

After me turning them down & discussing the offer with Rory at RRP numerous times, he came back to me with an offer of no payment up front but taking the full cash from the 1st 14 days bookings.  So I agreed to join under these terms.  I also was guaranteed the 2 bookings at various points in the year.

I have yet to see the links that they are supposed to have worked up yet after only 2 days I had a call saying they had a booking for a week later (ie - this current week!).  So we now have some guests in there, despite it not being advertised yet (which suits me).  However - the proof of the pudding will be when I get the 3rd booking and I actually receive some cash in my account.

I look forward to this happening and will report back, but it SEEMS like a promising start.

Cheers

Jon

Hi. I have just found this website (and joined) while looking for information on Ready Rentals.

They have contacted me , and I had considered giving them a chance.

Just wondering if anyone has had any recent experience with them. There doesn't seem to be much evidence of success using them.

Any opinions welcome.

Thanks,

Ader

My situation is still the same - see my message 3 below.

I have not gone "live" yet - so that is frustrating.

But I have had one booking from their "bank" - but will not get any money until my 3rd booking has come in.

Time will tell!!

Cheers

Hello.  I'm probably way off base but anyway - I'm a retired U.S. Navy captain living in Michigan USA. My wife and I are looking for a one bedroom apartment in the Sotogrande/Duquesa area to rent for about a month or so commencing about February 15th, 2009.  We are looking for a place with English TV, i.e., BBC, SKY, in a relatively new development along the coast.  If you have any information on the subject that would assist us I'd appreciate an e-mail to captjag@sbcglobal.net.  Thank you.

Hi - A bit frustrating in that it took ages to go live.  I am now live on their sites - but well hidden away and at ridiculously high prices - so I dont expect any bookings and have had none as yet (apart from 1 they pulled out of their backlog).

But it hasn't cost me anything - beyond giving away 2 free weeks to RRP.

So - in summary - not great so far, but time will tell.

Cheers

Jon
