I'm Nicolas, I live in Madrid. I work on this subject (details in my signature), and before going further I would like to hear from people who actually own a home here.
When the time comes, would your family know where to start? Where the escritura is kept, which bank, who collects the IBI, who your gestor or lawyer is.
How have you organised this? A folder, a list, a Spanish will, nothing yet, or you decided it was not needed?
I'll share what I learn in this thread in December.
