9th of December-Bank Holiday

Today is a Bank Holiday in Spain. Yesterday we celebrated the Inmaculate Conception of Mary ( Mother of Jesus) and as it was Sunday, the work holiday gets moved to today, Monday.

Not in Valencia, they don't move the bank holidays here.

And I don't remember a public holiday that fell on a weekend being moved to Monday before either. Seems amzingly stupid in light of the current economic situation, but also utterly pointless, since most local shops here opened on Sunday instead! A day wasted, that can never be recovered.
