Travel insurance for the elderly

My father who is 68 is looking to come out to Spain with us for 9 days but is on medication for his heart as he's had a quadruple heart bypass, is diabetic and has vascular disease due to his diabetes. Can anyone point me in the right direction for insurance that will cover these conditions. We've tried various ones but either won't cover him or want a fortune. Any advice please Mike

Try Staysure Insurance, based in UK, but covers people in UK and ex pats in Spain. If a person is undergoing investigations for an undiagnosed condition, they will not provide cover until there is a diagnosis. With your father's history cover is likely to be expensive, however,my husband has several medical conditions, which put the premiums up but their cover is cheaper than other companies I have tried. I'm sure you have already thought of this, but check that his EHIC card, for emergency use is in date! Good Luck.

try Ancile Insurance who may trade under goodtogo .co.uk-they are specialist in providing travel insurance for those over 60 with health problems,most of their work comes from travel agents who otherwise cannot palce the business
