HELP................does anyone know.............

I am trying to buy Salter Academy Chrome Scales.

The internet just brings up John Lewis.................and I really want to buy them in Spain.

Salter's website does not seem to have an address in Spain, but surely someone must sell them?

I have done all the usual ie Corte Engles site Torre Hogar etc etc but NOTHING.............any ideas please??

Amazon.co.uk do free delivery to Spain, which is where we buy a lot of stuff from.

I checked and the closest thing they have is this.

Not sure if that's any help.

Does it have a model no? 4010? This one seems to be the same as Amazon sell but cheaper price, £21.86, maybe you could contact them (UK)

More...............I don't do food weighing! I need the scales for our healthy eating club.

I have had a reply from John Lewis who do not deliver to Spain but their Bond Street branch have an international dept but they have not responded as yet.

Salter have assossiates everywhere bar Spain and they tell me they have discontinued the scale I want and have told me about the one you suggested Justin.

One question....................if the Salter Academy Chrome scale is discontinued by Salter, how come John Lewis are selling them?

And I tried SO hard to help

Karen, I assume John Lewis is running down their current stockholding for the scales you want which is why they probably have some.

P.S. If you were closer I would join your healthy eating club.  Susan is ALWAYS moaning at me about the rubbish I eat after eating the salads she so lovingly prepares!

 I got it wrong!  

You see Karen makes great novelty cakes & wedding cakes so I automatically thought the scales were for weighing ingredients & had to laugh at your link, Justin, because I'd never given it a thought that Karen was after scales to weigh people on.

I knew she went to a healthy eating club as when my husband & I were in Spain a few years ago  ..at the same time as Patpur (from here) & his mother .. Patpur & his mother & my husband & I were asked if we would like to join Karen & her husband & the members of the club on a coach trip to Valencia. Partway there we stopped at a cafe where we all bought bacon baguettes  then, when we got back, many including my OH & I, went to a Chinese restaurant & pigged out so, I'm sure the regime would suit you, Justin.

I really do appreciate all the help I get from this forum.....................

John Lewis International will charge approx 38 pounds for delivery so they tell me!

I,m not sure what to do now.........mainly because Salter has told me they no longer make this scale. The other one they offer is made of plastic and I want the more substantial one so that 30 to 40 persons can jump on it every Friday!!!!

Oh...........and thank you More for the cake advert!! Cup cakes seem to be the order of the day right now!!

Talking of cup cakes - my daughter Kate made these (and loads more!) for her sister Vicky's 40th birthday party!  My mouth's watering just thinking of them - where do you live Karen?!!!

Karen lives not far from me, Sue. My friend, Jeanette who lives on our urb, makes superb cakes & wonderful massive cupcakes & tries them out on us.  We sampled gorgeous mouth watering ginger & lemon ones. People do seem to be wanting cupcakes even for wedding cakes especially if the bride & groom don't like fruit cakes though I say give me a rich fruit cake any day.

I live at Playa Flamenca Sue.

I supply a local shop and a coffee shop and the cafe in Iceland in Torre has my carrot cake and my lemon drizzle cake.

I would put on photos but that would be boasting!!

I have just done a wedding cake with the bride and groom on top in icing.......apparently the groom wanted to bite off the bride's head and he did...................wonder how long that relationship will last? She was not best pleased !!!

I have now ordered the Scales I want from John Lewis International and paid thier delivery charge.

I could probably got them here cheaper but my logic is .....if they are delivering them then they are responsible so if they arrive bust they can take them right back and sort it out. I cannot complain to them if someone else delivers and messes up!
