I have lived in Spain now for a year and I´m confused as to why I have to pay for my prescriptions here when I hold a English exempt card due to being a diabetic.

Yes I know I am in Spain and not England but the cost of any of my prescriptions are paid for by the NHS, so if I hold an exemption card why do I still have to pay part of it here when the card should cover all the cost?
