I'm only asking because apparently our mayor is getting out before he's pushed. He's supposedly been offered a job in Málaga. People keep asking me what's happening as if I should know.

I expect we'll be seeing a few of you folks in the Summer? I hope the weather improves for you, as it's been cold and wet of late.

HI. We are trying to get some factual info re the Mirador Developement Phase 1 Feunte de Piedra as we have desposits paid for a house but are now told there is an embargo on the remaining houses due to unpaid taxs etc etc etc.

Have you completed and actually got your house ? If so what is the situation on site as we have been told the swimming pool is now a public one and many of the houses are not finished or have problems with build quality.

The only lawyers we have found at present are IURA, Noami Webb, but prehaps you have some other contacts.

Any news or help would be gratefully received as at present we have hit a wall of silence.

Fact is I have nothing to do with the development. I just happen to live in this village and people ask me questions. I believe lots of folks that follow this list are actually taking action hence my original question.

They have filled the pool (illegally of course - they used a public tap) and I've seen people using it - even though it resembles a building site. I can't imagine the public would want to use it. Lots of people have their own pools and there's the municipal pool where all the kids go.

There's somebody that lurks around this forum that bought 17 houses with loose change from his back pocket. I've forgotten his name, but he should be able to help you.

we were over to complete in July but the air con was not fitted and Mirador refused to give us any discount.  Basically they wanted us to complete with no snagging and the house unfinished and would not accept our money unless we paid in full for an unfinished property. Bizarre!!  I don't know who they are answerable to but this sort of business practice does not make any sense to me. They could have had our money, it is still sitting in a bank account unused. 
The estate is still largely unsold so I don't know how they expect to make any money, it appears that they couldn't care less.

Mirador say that all of phase one is sold. Phase two was started, but all building in Spain has now stopped. A friend was in the offices of Mirador the other day and apparently there was a pile of court summonses on the desk. I don't think Mirador will exist for much longer. Goodness knows where that will leave you people.

I suppose one of you could buy my house, as I'm seriously thinking about getting out. Twice in one day I was spoken to in English by cashiers in supermarkets. It seems the brits are getting their way as usual and the locals are having to learn a foreign language to survive in their own country. Sad, isn't it.

        I have to say that there are now over 65% completed, there are a few for sale and the split seems to be 50-50 Brits and Spanish lining here at the moment. There are some houses with no air con fitted but most have been done by Mirador, 
   As you say wibbleypants Mirador seen in a bad way, there head office in Venaz Malaga is now closed and we have is outstanding work on the site.
    We have water and gas but have a problem in getting the contracts for the electric, we have the paperwork but are not able to get a contract.
    Even with these problems we are the lucky people we have our property if Mirador go under the people that have not signed may loose everything as my solisitor tells me that the liquidators have to sell for the best price they can get for the propertys
