I have just tried this website for my son to come out in May or June (too young to hire a car) and it comes up at £330 for 2 adults return journey from Murcia Airport (San Javier) - similar price from Almeria Airport. 

How do you get these cheaper quotes - was it out of peak season?

I did misread the price - it is £16 not euros.

From Almeria there is a shuttle bus as well as private transfers & this is the price for the shuttle. I checked right up to the end of July & the same price applies.

From Murcia, it looks as though it is only private transfers that are available so for 2 people it is not very economical.

Does anyone know the cost of a taxi from Thalassa to Almeria Airport?

I have heard varying figures from €70 - €100 so not entirely sure.

The shuttle certainly sounds the best (economical) solution for students etc

thanks Noreen, I did try the site a few times and for some reason some times showed only the private transfers but eventually it did display the shuttle service (perhaps they update in real time as the shuttle becomes fully booked?)  We won't be able to try it next time we are out in May as we have too much luggage with us, but hopefully will do the following visit. If it goes wrong then we will only have hand luggage and can always find a hire car
