A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a company who want me to subscribe to their service so that my apartments details get advertised on their various holiday rental websites.  They have listed my apartment for a trial period free of charge.

Today, with the trial period about to end,  I received an enquiry for a rental and the enquirer was keen to mention they had seen my advert on this very site.

I won't name names but has anyone else been approached to subscribe and then received enquiries through that very channel in the same way.

Try this:

Propose  that as you've had no real rental takers to date but you've had just one sniff , they should extend the free trial.
If you get a real booking (with deposit paid) you'd commit to paid advertising  (I'm assuming that their rates are reasonable).
