Hi all,

Another one pulling out due to another extended completion date. I visited San Juan last week and had a look around the show house, and to be honest I was quite impressed with the quality of finish etc. Talking to the office girls, when asked when my completion date would be they said "March 2009" well that was the last straw. I was told a few months ago it would be end of 2008, that was bad enough, but this, I have had enough.

My solicitors are now instructed to claim every penny back from Piensa. I bought on phase 5, No 20, 3 bed town house  for €189,000 I believe these are selling for €226,000.

If any one wants to buy off me and make a nice profit I will sell for €200,000. that will give me €11,000 which I reckon is the amount of interest I have lost on my €104,115.oo deposit over the past 18 monhs.

Please pm me if you are interested.

Mike.

Hi Mike,

That doesn't tally with the information I have.

We are buying on phase 10 and expected completion in March 2009 - we are now expecting the property to be completed by the end of 2008. (Source: The girls in the office)

Although - looking at the photographs on www.esendionline.com/calasdelpinar.html it does look as though phase 5 is a little bit behind the others for some reason.

Don't give up - this will be a great site when finished.

Stu

Hi Mike have you checked everything before you pull out? Like you said It is going to be a great holiday home when finished we go over reguary to check on progress and have like many been dissapointed with the wait. But at this stage we think it would be stupid to pull out because we wouldn't get this type of house and build for this money now.Even when finished you can always opt to sell and thats where your profit will be.It's such a shame I'm sure you have felt how great this place is and untouched by McDonalds and their likes and clubs and drunkards. We have bought on the understanding that we will get some years of it being quiet  and pure before it goes like the costas then we will sell up. What plot are you on and what number? We can all meet if you want to talk about things we are only in hyde and your in wilmslow.Regards Mags and Paul

Has your solicitor charged you for getting your money back?

We decided to pull out February 2007, same reasons as everyone else, fed up of the delays and not being able to get an honest answer from anyone. Finally got our money back in November 2007, the delay mainly due to the ineptitude of our Spanish solicitors (Euro Abogados). We did not have to pay a cancellation fee, so I would challenge their request. I hope this site works out for everyone that has been brave enough to hang in there!

I have pulled out of Calas del Pinar. An email from my solicitor  has said  my full deposit and reservation fee has been refunded, and with the present exchange rates means I have made sufficient to cover the interest over the past few years with a little bit left over, so I am going out to celebrate tonight.

Good luck to you all and I am sure once the development is finished there will be no regrets.

Mike

Its the first time I've looked at this forum since we pulled outand its quite sad to see lots of others pulling out, but Peinsa have only themselves to blame. When we were in Mojacar in March we went to have a look at the site and we thought it would be very nice when it was complete if you are patient of course but we have no regrets at all in pulling out when we did.

Just a word from where we see it now, I would urge anyone thinking of throwing in the towel of having a house in Spain to think again. It is the best thng we ever did and we sat on the balcony in March and wondered why on earth it had taken us so long to take the plunge. Sure the exchange rate is a pain at the moment, but that is easily overcome by taking out a Spanish mortgage in euros, because as sure as night follows day the pound will recover eventually - anyone who thinks the euro zone and the euro will be somehow immune from the worldwide slowdown are in cloud cuckoo land - the euro will fall back and interest rates there must soon fall as well.

So if you do pull out of Peinsa take time to have a look round at other properties available. Developers or private sellers will offer very good discounts at the moment - think nothing of asking for 10% off the asking price. (There are some great deals for instance in Mojacar playa where we are at the moment - we got ours from Veritas homes who are excellent and all English). When you do get your place in Spain you'll wonder why you didnt do it long ago.

Good luck!
