Just had a phone call from our next door neighbours (Open 15-47) to let us know that the builders supply of water and electric has been disconnected to the properties already signed over.  The Town Hall Inspector has said the habitation certificates cannot be issued whilst builders supply is being used but a date for issue was not given.  Apparently though, it is law that the Utility Companies have to connect supplies as soon as these certificates are in place, usually about five days later.  The people already on site have been moved into a Hotel.

I would advise anyone going out in the near future to check with their Agent or Solicitor as to whether or not connections have been completed.  Hopefully this will happen soon as I should think they would try to get people back into their own properties as soon as possible.  Lets hope everything is OK for the Christmas party.

Best regards

Elaine & Steve (Open 15-46)

Hi All,

I was on site last Monday and only two house holders had moved out and some were still staying. The water was still on as the temp supply outside our house in the garden was on full blast and I had to turn it off.The electricity was off till they removed all the temp supplies they had going through the site on telegraph poles in gardens etc and they were to be removed and then they were going on to mains supply to the houses they were due to release. This was expected to happen some time on Wednesday last.If I hear anymore info will keep you all posted.

Cheers,

Denny M16/32

Hi Denny

I see we are neighbours (or will be maybey)

We have bought M16/20

Did you get any word on possible handover dates?

Any improvement on "soon" would be great.

Chris

Hi all, just unpacking after our weekend visit to Sierra Golf, we were there 4 times all together, and tried to talk to anyone around.  We talked to one couple who have move in permanent who aren't on the forum, they told us that everyone had been moved out to hotels and people were just coming back to do odd jobs around the house.  They said they have water but no electricity.  The hotel they were moved to was so disgusting they walked in and walked out as it had a rusty fridge and cocroaches and was dirty.  I don't know how they are keeping so calm.

They told us they had had a leak inside the house were the builders had fractures a water pipe when they attached a banister type rail, so when the water was turned on they had an extra shower in their lounge.  They were in an Albatros just facing the open exit road off SG.  They also said after the flash floods they had water in their basements, which they needed to get sorted pretty quick as they had someone booked to do their drive tomorrow and that would have to be postponed as they would have to repair whatever was wrong with the basement first.

We looked at a few drives and they seem to have suffered from the rains so those of you with basements would be well advised to ask your agents to check this out especially if no one is going to be in for a while.

The couple we spoke to said they had been told it would be 2 weeks before they get their electric on, another person told us that it was going before the committee (Town Hall) on Thursday, then 2 weeks for paperwork and then a week or two after that everyone should get their habitations certificates.

We also heard M13 and 16 should be next with 11 and 12 following on in January.

Think I have covered all, I will add some photos later when I have unpacked.

HI R & G

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE INFO, SOUNDS LIKE EVERYBODY WHO IS LIVING OUT THERE IS HAVING A BAD TIME OF IT AT THE MIN.. THAT WAS SOME RAIN LAST WEEK IN SPAIN LOTS OF PLACES GOT FLOODED..

DID YOU GET TO SEE YOUR PLACE (HOW WAS IT)... DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THE POOL ONLY IT DID NOT LOOK THAT DEEP FROM THE PIC I WAS SENT.....

WHEN WE PHONED MASA LAST MONTH THEY SAID THAT (M11) WOULD NOT BE READY TILL ABOUT JAN/FEB SO BY THE SOUNDS OF IT THEY COULD BE RIGHT FOR ONCE...

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR PIC;S.....

ITS NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN SO TAKE CARE AND HOPE TO SEE YOU BOTH SOON..

REGARDS  ROB/SUE

The statement made regarding the connection of permanent supplies not being able to be connected while builders supply in place is not correct

The truth is that once the developer has been issued with a Certificate of Habitation they are no longer legally required to provide utility supply so, in order to save money, they often disconnect the supply. They also cannot make any charge for these supplies

In the Murcia region, due to the demand on new builings there can be delays in connecting electricity supply as seen on Polaris World where it was taking 2 months to get electricity connected

The best solution is to make sure that your lawyer takes on the responsibilty for these connections so that he can chase the local providers and insist that the builder maintains builders supplies until the cut over
