Hi all

On the blogs we have been reading that the first signing over dates would be M14 on the 16th August, then M15 etc on 30th August.

When we were out there on the 13th the houses on M14 and M15 were all being cleaned and the pavements being finished off.  Does anyone know if anyone has actually signed over yet, is living in, or in fact has even been inside their houses yet.  We know there is a three week snagging period but when does that start?  Does the agent do some snagging before the actual signing?

Hoping to hear some good news soon. R.

I was over on the 14th of august to do my snagging and all went well, but i could have had it done by someone local that would have saved me a lot of money,if anyone want a name of someone todo it for them for 100 euro i will give a name at the end.

To follow on from that,I had a phone call from my solicitor today to say that the builders water @ electric is know connected and the habitation certificate will be granted on thursday 30th and she will complete on friday,so keep fingers and everything else crossed.btw happy birthday ROB.

the name for someone todo the snagging is TONY McBURNEY ( i can recommend him )  tel +34968170081

Hi Eric

Did you say the builder's water and electric is now connected.  I thought that was the whole reason for the long delays that have happened, as the local council and Masa said they didn't want anyone on builders electric, so everyone had to wait till their own supply was connected.

Does that mean we won't be paying for our electric then until the whole site is finished, as that is what Masa said was not going to happen??

Hi, Masa asked me for the 360euros for water and electric connection two weeks ago so I would imagine we will be on the Utility Company's supplies.

WE BOOKED OUR FLIEGHT LAST NIGHT FOR THE 14TH SEPT SO WE WILL BE ANOTHER ONE ON SITE . GET THE BEER IN THE FRIDGE!!!!!!!

Hi All,

As with everyone else, we were told that the handover procedure would be from 16th August (M14), with M15 from 30thAugust, and M16 from 7th September.

Our latest reply to an email to Mercers (our Agents) says that they are awaiting the allocation of signing dates, also, in their case, we will only be able to sign on a Thursday, the day the Notarys are in San Javier, as they point out that Elche (Tuesday & Friday signings) is too far for them to travel (obviously, the commission they will have made on the sales will be exceeded by the travel costs). They, (the Notarys) will probably have around 20 signings each time, we are told.

I believe that patience is a virtue, in which case, so it is becoming apparent that I may not be a person of virtue.

Never mind, its better than November 2007, the last date Mercers gave us for completion - Hell, they may have been right in the first place!!!

L.O.L.

See you all eventually,

John B.

Hi All

Had a message from my agent today regarding water & electric supplies, she said Masa said that the offical connection of water & electric would be from mid-september onwards, and she said it would be utilities supply. (lets hope so)

She also said that is why we are planning completion from mid-september on. (dont like the sound of MID-SEPTEMBER ON)

Can't be to much longer now.

Regards

Tony

As I understand it, it is not a legal requirement to have a habitation certificate in place before you move in merely a recommendation

We have been advised by our solicitor not to complete until Habitation Certificate is in place, as it can, and often does, cause problems later - eg. water and electricity not connected to mains for long periods of time.

HI  LES AND AUD...

I WOULD GET A SOLICITOR THAT IS INDEPENDENT OF YOUR AGENT SO HE WOULD BE WORKING FOR YOU AND NO ONE ELSE, AND I WOULD GET A (WILL) MADE UP AS IT WOULD SAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE...

WE HAVE A GOOD SOLICITOR, IF YOU NEED INFO ON HIM LET ME KNOW....

ROB

PS... WELCOME TO THIS SITE.. YOU WILL MEET LOTS OF FRIENDLY PEOPLE ON HERE...

Hi, Les & Aud,

Welcome to EOS, website of those who live in hope,

Rob is right - get your OWN Solicitor (Or Legal representative, as most are called). You DO need a Spanish will, if only to ensure that the Spanish Government & Mr. Brown do not become the main beneficiaries in the event of .........................!!! WELL'LLL, you know!!!

Take a bit of advice, give Rob a call ( he's the one who will serve all the beer at the SG opening ceremony in Erics Tavern, but more about that at another time), and use a Solicitor (perhaps his), who is totally independant of the Agents - there are horror stories everywhere about Solicitors 'recommended' by Agents.

As Rob says, this is a friendly site, and he, Tony at 15-30, and me will be even more friendly if you buy the beer at Erics Tavern on POLYGON M15 we we all get there, eventually.

.L.O.L.

John B.

We were told by our estate agents that it was a legal requirement to have a will in place on completion.  How true this is I don't know, but we will be doing this.

Hi Llamacalmer,

Must admit its the first time that I've heard it is a 'legal requirement' to have a will in place on completion - I'd be interested to hear from other members of this site, to what they say!!

No doubt, it is the thing to do, but I am somewhat concerned that your Agents suggest this - it is the thing to do, but I would advise you to use your own selected Solicitor, not one recommended by your Agents, if that is what they are doing - if you want a list of independant Legal reps (Solicitors), drop me a line,  or give Rob49 (now 50) a call (He's on this thread).

p.s. Hey Rob, alter your Forum profile, you're 50  (FIFTY)  now,   Mate, not 49!!!!!!!!!!!

Best regards,

John B.
