Hi everyone,what lovely weather were getting at the moment,has anyone been on holiday to there apartment in the luz,you must  have had better weather there.Does anyone know how phase 3 is coming along,we were in almoradi on the 23rd of june but hav,nt had any recent photo,s the builders where doing the roof when we where there.The forum has been quiet recently perhaps alot of you are away if so have a lovely time. its just so miserable here,we hope to go out again soon.hope to here from anyone soon.bye for now tricia

yes since last July.

Just got back after a fortnight in Almoradi , weather was absolutely brilliant, blue skies every day! Saw the Moors & Christians parades, they were unbelievable, but a bit dissapointing when it came to the claiming of the castle, it was all over really quickly.

     We will be in Almoradi on Jan 4 in time for the Kings processions, I was speaking to  a resident on La Marina beach , she said that on Christmas Day everyone takes a picnic to the beach so the weather must be good. We were out late March this year for a week and it rained every day bar one! But I think that was unusual. We are back out in September so hoping for good weather then.

Christmas is a pretty quiet affair and most people celebrate the feast of the kings. It had a real Christmassy atmosphere with presents being exchanged between people in the town square.

It was great to celebrate christmas at home only to go to spain and see the build up all over again.

The locals celebrate christmas as a holy affair, and the feast of the kings as the present giving time. It's funny going into big stores on 29th December and still hearing "santa clause is coming to town" playing on the tannoys. New years eve will see the local bars closed but Bar elite, and the dragon etc are open as usual. The locals have street BBQ's and the party starts at midnight when everyone eats a grape on each chime of midnight (trust me it takes some doing!!)

There is a big parade to the square on 5th January with toys and sweets being passed to the children. Main presents are presented to the children by the 3 kings on a stage in the square. Not to be missed.

Most shops are open as usual as is the market except on public holidays.

As for me, I'm back out on 25th August for a week, and 27th Oct for a week. Hoping to get time for crimbo but I usually work so have to wait and see.

Its Carol & Bill, 235 we are also coming to Alomoradi on the 27th Aug for 9 days, hope to meet up and have a chat. Looking forward to the break so hope the weather keeps up. We were also out in April and it rained,  not had a chance to get back out again. We have heard the weather has been great. We were sorry we did'nt get to see the Moors and Christians this year  as we missed it last year  too but we will be there next year.

Look forward to seeing as many people as we can.

well we are off tomorrow and just cant wait. There are other people in phase 3 asking us for an update when we return so will post on this forum. We are out again 1st november but wont be there over christmas. speak soon

Hi Tricia, I am here, just moved house so had to wait to get my A.O.L. transferred.  I will be going out for 2 weeks on the 16 sept so I will try to find out more for you. My daughter is there at the moment and says that the weather is lovely. Although it is great here too, you can always tell when the children go back to school!

I have been a member for quite a while (10 months) - I've just never posted a message. I am Sharon's ( alias LeeAbby) friend, Linda.  Myself and my husband, Charles have also bought a flat in Phase 3 (Apt No 217) I  think its just above Tricia.

We are going out on the 22nd Sept for our mid term visit (5 nights) so I will take plenty of pictures.  I have been informed by Atlas that the new furniture supplier is Meubles Bahia (have asked Atlas for website info or address so I can take a look before I visit). I am staying in Phase 1 & 2,   so I may bump into you Gill.
