Hi Gouldingay,

Just looking at the photos you've loaded on as I've started to purchase little odds and ends for the flat that will not be supplied in the furniture package.

I couldn't remember the tile colour in the bathroom, so your photo was a great help and I've now purchased my towels!

I can't remember the tile colour in the kitchen, and is the worktop brown or black granite? can you or anyone help me out or put a photo on please??

Also can you tell me if the bedspreads and shower curtain were ones you purchased yourself or were they the ones supplied in the package?

I'm going to change the bed settee as the one we're being given is burgandy with floweres or sometjing on it and the curtains are all orange, so hopefully, by not also taking the curtains it will maybe help towards the upgrade of the sofa!!

I do know that we're getting the same kitchen and tiles and worktops as you all got but they're changing all doors and wardrobe doors to wood instead of painted.

If anyone can help out with any of the aforementioned queries I would be grateful.

thanks,

Sharon

the bedspreads was with the package but i got the shower curtain myself  the colour in kitchen is white tiles with a border of green and terracotta {knife and fork} and grey granite work tops

the bull down the road from the apartments is selling bedding and they are having delivers from argos so if you want something  from argos they take orders  if you are buying curtains yourself be careful i bought some 90 drop thinking they would fit but the curtain rail is higher then the windows its top of the ceiling . we got the orange curtains and i dont like them

i bet you cant wait for it to be done good luck hope it all goes well

Dear Sharon, You can buy everything you need for your new apartment from Carrefour in Torrevieja. We bought all our crockery, cooking utensils, bedding, electric goods etc. Prices vary ,so you can buy economy or a bit more expensive! Lots of people seem to do the same ,you often see couples with trolleys loaded staggering around, it is a good one stop shop.

On the subject of ironmongers, there is one in Almoradi just over the Square, called a Ferretaria.(think that,s spelt correctly)

I have got the orange curtains too, but I  like them ,they give the apartment a lovely glow!!!

The shop where the furniture package is from is in Torrevieja as well, I bought some matching armchairs (plain fabric) to go with settee. Perhaps you could just change the cover if you wanted to keep it, it pulls out as an extra bed, but not very comfy I must admit. When I asked about up-grading furniture the prices were over the top.

Anyway thats enough for now                Best wishes Gill.

Thanks everyone for the info.  Interesting to know that a local pub does orders from Argos!!!  That will probably come in handy for something!!!

I don't remember the tiles having a knife and fork on them in the showhome but then again I thought the worktop was brown!!!

Maybe they'll be different also in phase 3.  I think I'll stick to neutral teatowels etc at the moment ie beige!!

Hi Tricia,

Lovely to hear from you!

Couldn't send you a Xmas card as I only have your phone number, no address!

If you're in another internet cafe send me your address by private e-mail and let me know if you're going to have a new e-mail address or not as I know you haven't had a computer for a while.  Let me know as soon as you're home!

Love,

Sharon

Hi everybody

I've been away and have just seen the messages about furniture. If you want grey hairs then buy your upgrades from Muebles Beatrix in Torrevieja. They supply the furniture packs. Naomi in the shop speaks good English but will stitch you up every time. Everybody in the apartments has a horror story to tell about Naomi and furniture. I wish I had never tried to upgrade. In fact, I wish I had just taken the allowance and gone down to Ikea, because I had to buy most stuff from there in the end.

Naomi charges high prices, changes things after you have left the shop, says she will work out costs and fax them to you - she doesn't. They delivered me an upgraded sofa bed with the wrong cover on it in June and I am still waiting for the replacement. I have now got my lawyer involved. I upgraded to the Bahia pack which is quite nice, but Naomi kept sending the wrong things or nothing at all. the store still owes me for a dining table and chairs, bed heads and bathroom fittings, all of which Naomi now denies I paid for. I paid for them in January and they should have been delivered in June.

I got very stressed out all summer trying to deal with it all.Now I accept that it is partly the Spanish way of doing business and mainly Naomi making extra profit. I'm leaving it all to my lawyer. I have a lovely apartment, furnished mainly from Ikea, which is only down at Murcia, and I'm not going to get stressed out again.

If you can get out of any arrangements with Muebles Beatrix, I strongly recommend that you do. If you are happy with that appalling sofa with the maroon cover, leave well alone.

Valstanne

I can only speak from my own experience and found Naomi to be helpful, extra furniture did not get delivered on the day it should have been but that was o.k. because I wasn,t there anyway and Gustavo had a key to open up on the day it was. I admit that the furniture pack isn,t what you would choose yourself , but at least it is all in place for when you take possession. The white goods are fine, they replaced the washing machine for me ,which was faulty. As I only use the apartment, at the moment, for holidays it is adequate. You can always replace it as and when.I don,t know what sort of allowance they would give if you didn,t take it!

Hi, as I am going to have to come out for an inspection trip later in the year re. phase 3, it's interesting to hear about the furniture pack.  We've also been shown the horrific burgundy sofa and I was definately going to change it, but I was under the impression all the furniture came from Arca.  Is this the same place you are talking about?  And can you take the 'cost' back for anything you don't want and buy elsewhere??

Any info. appreciated.

Sharon

Hi Sharon, as Valstanne says ,our furniture was supplied by Muebles Beatrix in Torrevieja, don,t know if  Arca is another branch, or if promoters have changed their suppliers .But if you have seen the maroon bed settee it doesn,t sound like it. We were offered an upgrade but like I said it was expensive, we were not offered cash back for not taking package, and to be honest can,t see you getting it now you are all signed, but there again who knows, it is worth a try.  We didn,t ask so we didn,t get !

Hi Solostar,

I've checked Atlas members' site and it defiantely says Arca supply furniture, but we did get told we could upgrade...maybe they are the same place after all, we were shown the showflat and it was the burgundy settee...if it's going to be very expensive to upgrade may have to invest in a very large cream throwover!!!

Hi Sharon,

Best thing to do is give them a ring and see what they are prepared to do for  you.
