Hi

I have not been out there in about a year and was wondering if someone could tell me roughly what percentage of the apartments have been taking up  by their owners at this point. I am in block 4 and have not heard anything from my agent in months. I am not taking the apartment until the hab cert has been granted etc. To bo honest i am in no panic of taking ownership of my own but would like to have an idea when that might be to help me plan etc

Thanks

Joe

Hi i am in block 5 and have recently been informed my solicitor will be signing the deeds for me at the end of this month so i will take possession when this is done, altho i believe there is still alot of work going on around us,but the apartment itself is complete or so i hope it is! my next job is to get the apartment rented out to cover mortgage cost as im not going to be able to make use of it much myself within the next year or so,but will be coming out within the next two months to check the area ect out. If anyone knows of a renting agency that i could go through this information would be much appreciated or any other general info on the area and apartments  would be great! Im 20 and new to this buying property stuff so info will help me!

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren,

There are two agents that I know of in Formentera.  One in the village called Golden Keys (www.goldenkeysproperty.com), the other is Elite Property Management (www.elitepm.org.uk)  if you contact them they will be able to advise you on rental and property management packages they provide.

I recently stopped in in a property rented via Elite and they provided an excellent service, I have also heard golden keys also provide an excellent service.

Check them out and see how you go - good luck!!

Regards

Sharron

We were in Formentera last week. We have a ground floor apartment in block 3. There are a sprinkling of people who have already moved in despite not having the cert of habitation. In fact last Friday we took the bull by the horns and invited all owners in residence at the time to a barbecue and 30+ people turned up. I lost count after several bottles of wine! They are all really great people - some buying to rent, some living there permanently and some planning to live there eventually. Sadly, although the notice was in Spanish as well, no Spaniards turned up. I'd like to think it was just because there weren't any there rather than they didn't want to mix with us lot.

Anyway, we finally got to bed at 4am.

We all experienced power and water cuts (lots of the former and only one or two of the latter) but as we're not paying for either I guess we can't complain.

The steady flow of new people seems to have increased somewhat. ARCA seem to be always delivering.

The site huts have disappeared as have the show places and that ground is being prepared for building.

The block in front - I believe this is Brisas del Mar - is progressing speedily. I must admit it is still a bit of a health & safety disaster, with cables and debris scattered about but none of this is a show-stopper.

Looking forward to meeting lots and lots of new owners next time we visit - sadly not until September though.

Bye. Irene

Hi Kev

Shame we missed meeting you. Perhaps next time.

Pool & intercom: yes a big mess! There are lots of conflicting stories about when both will be ready. I'd be interested in the response you might get. I'll ask my agent to ask the questions too as he's extremely good at getting through to the right people!

Bye Irene

Hi,

We have just arrived back indoors (UK) following our takeover of our Block 1 apartment.  We went to Irene & Alan's barbie and had a great time meeting lots of interesting people, but had to leave at about 10.00 pm as, although we had signed at the notary we were still staying in La Zenia and had no electricity.  We had had a long day and were realily feeling a bit like zombies after 4 hours at the Notaries!  Sorry for missing out those we did not speak to, but hope to meet you later.

We did go against what we had said and sign without the cert of occupation.  We felt reasonably safe because with places on that site going like hot cakes and clearly quite a lot of building yet to go, the builder doesn't want to get into a law-suit.  At the notaries, the Palaciosmar man said that they anticipated the certificate in about 3 weeks as that is when they plan to get the electricity and water companies taking over the systems (although someone else said August).

On that latter subject the external electricity cables have now all been tidied up and the temproary distribution boards removed.  The only link to be seen is that to block 1, which is neat and encased in a flexible conduit.  Water remains the same.  I have to say that since they did that we have had no electrical cuts up to when we left this morning.

As for residents of block 1, we know that there will be one other occupant, but the only others we have come across (2) are Spanish, so maybe they will be in the majority in that block?

We are very pleased with the apartment, quality is quite good (agree with what someone said about the furniture, so did our own thing there).  Faults were few and mostly, quickly dealt with.  Cleaning was another matter.  there was a "builders clean" acheived with a bucket of cold water, but that hardly impressed Gloria, so much elbow grease was expended in the subsequent days in getting cleanliness to a  "reasonable" standard.

We are now the proud owners of "a place in Spain" and will be back as oon and as often as possible.

Mike & Gloria.

Hi guys, Slightly off topic perhaps but regarding the certificate of occupation, does anyone know if this will be issued on a block by block basis or to all five blocks at the one time? I only ask as I am going back out in July to Block 5 for the month and would appreciate the free electricty and water :-) Mike
