We like Terrazas as a location for a holiday apartment. We also like La Torre but it's out of our price range. Has anyone got any views/opinions on some of the other golf resorts that have properties for sale eg. Corvera, Condado etc. The prices are lower on Corvera but there is no 24/7 security so bthat probably explains the cheaper prices elsewhere.

There is 24 hour security but not too much more as there is no golf course and not really any chance of it re-openning soon

Take a look at Vistabella Golf, also known as Entre Naranjos, currently, inland but  close to the motorways to Alicante and beaches, 25 minutes to either Alicante or Murcia airports

Close to 4 other courses, La Finca, Villa Martin, Campoamor, Los Collinas, and Las Ramblas

Gated community now, currently 11 holes but expanding to 18 already being built, range of facilities, bars restaurants, large bowls club, tennis etc

Mixture of new build properties still but furnished resales starting at €65k for a 2 bed one bath apartment

These are not flash ftontline golf properties but the site is tidy with good community pools and you only pay €600 - €700 a year in community fees, plus the bars charge local prices for food and drink

Please PM me if you want any ideas on prices and availability

Looks a bit Camposol. Love the way it looks like plans superimposed on satellite images

No perceivable perimeter security. Is there any?

I believe if somebody has ACTUALLY visited a site it is fair to comment and it is nothing like Camposol

They don't need perimeter security because 35% of the site is resdential and they don't have a crime problem and it is well used by the locals, especially because of the large bowls and tennis clubs, the gym and of course the bars and restaurants, sorry forgot the course and practice area, not a ghost town in the winter retying on  a single bar

No need to get so defensive! I simply made an observation based on viewing the urbanisation on google street view and asked a question.

What I meant when I said "looks a bit Camposol" is that it looks like an urbanisaton rather than a resort. Not a lot of space between buildings, small gardens, not much in the way of communal gardens or even trees, no visible community pools alongside the apartments, golf course set away from the residential buildings rather than integrated with it etc. So not really a golf resort in the sense that sungoddess was asking about, more an urbanisation with some golf courses nearby.

As for your dig about a ghost town in winter and relying on one bar, some people are only looking for an apartment in the sun for the summer months and like the peace and quiet of a "ghost town" rather than being woken in the early hours by drunken revellers fueled by cheap Spanish alcohol ;)

Just for the record sungoddess, when inspectahome said "There is 24 hour security but not too much more as there is no golf course and not really any chance of it re-openning soon" I think he is referring to Corvera as Las Terrazas has a top class golf course integrated with the community and there is of course the clubhouse, bar, restaurant and supermarket.

I was actually looking at buying on Condado  back in 2006 because I couldn't afford Las Terrazas. Times have changed obviously. Condado has better facilities at present with respect to gym and tennis courts but is further from airports and beaches. As per our pms, it all depends on what you are looking for. If you are wanting to play tennis in 30 degrees of heat then Condado is a better bet but if you want peace and quiet with good community pools and gardens, local access to gyms, paddle tennis, beaches and airports etc you won't go far wrong with Las Terrazas at under 43000 euros for a 1 bed apartment.
