I've got a pre-paid mastercard for buying our ryanair flights (saves around £40 per trip) but I've recently found a pre-paid mastercard which you are able to load in euros.  You can then use it in shops, restaurants etc. for free based on the euros which have been loaded on to the card.  You can also withdraw cash but there are charges for this.   The exchange rates are good when you load it up as well - better than high street rates.  It costs £10 per card (up to 2) whereas our bank charges 40 euros per bank card...

For those who are interested, details are at http://www.internationalfx.com/IFX-currency-mastercard

You could also try 'caxtonfx' which has a Euro card which is free and also does not charge for withdrawels.

Thanks 1098.

I've had a look at the Caxton website and probably won't bother with the second card now but will order 2 from Caxtonfx instead - as well as opening an account!!

I just tried booking some ryanair flights and even though I selected pre paid mastercard it still added 6 euros per passenger. None of the options are freee.

Is this something I've done or a permanent change?

Still showing the below on their website

Administration Fee - This fee is charged per passenger/ per one way flight and relates to the costs associated with Ryanair's booking system. No administration fee applies to bookings paid for by MasterCard Prepaid Debit Card.

Hi
If you go to the phones4you shop in the high street you can get a card called escape and this can be used to book free with FHA air.

The ´KALIX´ pre paid mastercard is also a good one to use for Ryanair. It also has an a very good exchange rate with no fees when abroad - except for drawing cash which is a no no.
