My apartment is due for completion in June. On a recent visit to the site I met two lovely couples, Karen & Mike and Judith & Barry. Thank you for your ideas, chat and friendliness.

On a down note, I was quite surprised to be informed by a chap, whose name I cannot remember, that the 'community' had decided that any compressors for air conditioning units should be located at the top of each apartment block. He cited that the square area in the middle of the solariums would be ideal as it is a 'communal area'.

Well there are two comments I must make in response to that comment:

1) As the development cannot be handed over or a communidad ( with president/s) established until it is complete, no such decisions can be made by a few people.

2) I paid more for my top floor apartment and certainly did not pay out that money in order to have 16 compressors for company when I relax on my privately owned solarium.

Afraid I must state categorically that as far as I am concerened it will never happen.

Looking forward to meeting more people and getting to know the area as well as where I used to own a property near to Santa Pola on the coast.

We are due to complete our apartment on 8th March, we too purchased a top floor apartment with solarium at extra cost and we have to agree with your message, there would be NO WAY we would authorise anyones external units being sited on our solarium.  I will clarify that this CANNOT happen with my lawyer and the builders when we complete and will post the reponse we get on this thread on our return.  We will also post updated pics, although I see that some were posted today, good to see everything coming on.  M Briggs

Than you M. Briggs for your support. Am sure that when more owners are aware of eyeonspain.com and read this, we will have further support and have a majority should this come to a vote at a communidad meeting.

I know many people in Spain and those who live in apartments are amazed at what has been mooted regarding the compressors.

Hope all goes well at notary.

Gaynor H.

Well we have just returned and are happy to report that our completion went without a hitch, in fact it was a breeze.  I spoke to Jason, in the sales office regarding the wiring on the solarium walls and quizzed him regarding the external condensers for the air con units, Jason advised that in Jan 07 the builders were told that it was a legal requirement for them to install wiring for air con units inside each apartment.  As for the question regarding the positioning of the external condensing units being situated in the area above the upstairs solarium doorway, which I must state we would NOT see from our solariums, I have been told by Jason and Oscar that this issue should be a discussion to be raised at our community meetings.  At present there are some residents both ground and first floor, who have already installed air con, their external condenser units appear on the side of the buildings and don't appear too unsightly, but if everyone was to have their units installed that way it would start to look messy and take away the look of the buildings.  If everyone in our block did have air con installed then there would be 8 external condenser units which would be situated as I stated before in the area above the upstairs doorway entrance. My husband works in the building industry and is not too bothered by this option. The builders representative, Oscar, has told me that the wiring on the solarium walls is only a temporary measure, these will hidden in some way.  I hope this report helps you understand a little better as to what could possibly happen, this area really is the only area to place the units if we want to retain the beauty of the buildings.  Anyway there are a lot of sky dishes on these areas already, that will be another matter for the community meetings!!!
