We are scheduled to receive the keys for our villa at the end of April and we are flying out in three weeks to set everything up. We are planning to visit a couple of furniture shops recommended by Parador Properties but we are not certain if they will be offering a good deal. I understand it's a very competitive market. Parador told us they have good business relationships with a range of dealers and that they would pass on these savings to us, their customers. The brochures we were given had set prices depending on the size of your property and they appeared to be the same for us as a stranger walking in from the street.
Can anyone recommend anywhere as I understand there is a great shop in Calasparra?

Hello

We have just come back after purchasing and furnishing our apartment. Whilst out there we were told that the shops recommended by parador all give them a large commission and were very pricey. We did some of our shopping at IKEA in Murcia and even hired a van from the shop and transported it ourselves. They will deliver and the price depends on the value of goods. For white goods etc you will find it very difficult to beet the Euronics store in Calasspara for both price and excellent service. We ordered, oven, hob, fridgefreezer and washing machine at 1900 hrs on a Thursday night and they had it delivered and installed by 1400 hrs on the next day. The opening in our worktop was not fiitted correctly for the hob and the person installing this it had to go and get a grinder and cut the opening to the right size. This was a very timestaking jog as the surface is granite and they did not charge for this. How is that for service.

All the best Jim

i can only agree with Jim,euronics are very good,as for Parador ,i would not even buy a dog from them, they are only helpful when they can sell you something, which is either overpriced, poor quality, etc, They are all on a commision based salary,Dont buy their pools, window grills, air con units, etc, ask around on the estate,

I would also agree. I have bought a few things from Euronics myself, and also have clients who have bought white goods packs via them. I can't say a bad word against them, service is fantastic. They even let one of my clients have the TV for a month before they paid for it as their funds hadn't cleared from UK.

If anyone else, like us, is planning to arrange furniture etc themselves rather than a furniture package then I would recommend going to Murcias' Nueva Condomina, en route to Ikea which is only 40 minutes from Calasparra.  It was a very straight forward drive and we luckily had hired a Vauxhall Meriva, which spent the week loaded up constantly.  This shopping mall even has a Primark!!! We purchased our white goods from a shop recommended by a neighbour,  suitated inside the mall called Eroski, it is basically like a Tesco Extra selling everything from food, white goods, beds, toasters etc. Most of the staff do not speak English but we luckily spoke to an assistant called Victoria, who was most helpful, they offer Free Delivery, but you must have a mobile that the delivery driver can contact you to advise you of delivery time, this can  be very tricky if, like us, you don't know much Spanish, but we did manage and got our delivery.  They also install the goods, and check the applicances are working, take away all the boxes, wrapping etc.  For DIY items, bathroom fittings and lights we found Leory Merlin very competitive,  it is basically the equivalent of B&Q.   For the solarium or garden areas we found Carrefour in Torrevieja Centro Commercial to offer more of a variety than most other places.
