Hi there

From my point of view I never buy a property without a view to its capital growth and feel that the new airport and luxury golf and country club at Corvera will have a ripple effect on the prices at La Canada. The golf course and complex being developed at Caravacca de la Cruz will also have a positive effect on our properties. I researched prices there and at the outset the apartments were more costly than mine. I think this will be the closest golf course to La Canada.

The advanatage of our development in terms of its aesthetic appeal is apparent when you look at other new builds locally. I would advise holding on to the property until the airport and golf courses open, that is when you will see your profit. The property market at the coast is saturated and many people are having to sell at vastly reduced prices if they are in any hurry to release their equity.

HI

If you go to the help desk in Ikea they will give you a leaflet with prices for both assembly and delivery - it is based on how much you spend. As I said previously, they do not fit lights. The leaflets are in Spanish but fairly straighforward. You pay separately when you purchase your goods. It seems quite reasonable.

I had thought of this option too but got such a good deal with nice looking modern units as I mentioned in my own thread, that I decided to go with that instead.

Hope this helps.

Than you M. Briggs for your support. Am sure that when more owners are aware of eyeonspain.com and read this, we will have further support and have a majority should this come to a vote at a communidad meeting.

I know many people in Spain and those who live in apartments are amazed at what has been mooted regarding the compressors.

Hope all goes well at notary.

Gaynor H.

I would recommend TODOGAR in Torrevieja for value and service if you want a one stop shop. It is true that you can get everything separately going to say Media Markt, Lee Roy Merlins and furniture outlets or Ikea, but I found Daniel at the store very helpful and open to a bit of bargaining.

They deliver and fit everything like most furniture stores in Spain (except Ikea who have a delivery and assembly price list - but they do not put up lights). Daniel speaks excellent English and the packs, which can be varied and modified, include all your basic equipment down to the mop and bucket! Very handy when your apartment is a holiday home and you don't have a lot of time after signing to shop around.

They currently have an offer on hot/cold air conditioning through a partner company - Johnson units - E339 for bedroom and E369 for lounge - fitting around E185 each or less. I have friends with Johnson units and they are good quality I believe. I have been advised that if a property is south facing the compressors should be kept out of direct sunlight as it affects the efficiency. I plan to have mine on the floor by the inside wall of my solarium in the shade. This will prevent an eyesore and hopefully ensure they work well.

My apartment is due for completion in June. On a recent visit to the site I met two lovely couples, Karen & Mike and Judith & Barry. Thank you for your ideas, chat and friendliness.

On a down note, I was quite surprised to be informed by a chap, whose name I cannot remember, that the 'community' had decided that any compressors for air conditioning units should be located at the top of each apartment block. He cited that the square area in the middle of the solariums would be ideal as it is a 'communal area'.

Well there are two comments I must make in response to that comment:

1) As the development cannot be handed over or a communidad ( with president/s) established until it is complete, no such decisions can be made by a few people.

2) I paid more for my top floor apartment and certainly did not pay out that money in order to have 16 compressors for company when I relax on my privately owned solarium.

Afraid I must state categorically that as far as I am concerened it will never happen.

Looking forward to meeting more people and getting to know the area as well as where I used to own a property near to Santa Pola on the coast.
