Hi,

We had our air con supplied and installed by PW befofre we moved in. There are 3 units, 1 in the lounge and 1 in each bedroom. The lounge air con is superb but the bedroom air con never feels cool or as efficent as the lounge one. In the summer it was terrible at night-time. My family have just arrived back and were convinced the units were not working as they had set them to 18c and cool and they could only feel warm air. I knew exactly how they felt.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, have they found a remedy?

Any help would be great

Thanks,

John

 Hi John,

Assuming the bedroom unit is on a different outside unit to the one in the lounge, then the problem is probably a gas leak.

We had the same problem,  over time the gas escapes and the unit stops chilling, had it re-gassed a couple of times whilst they traced the leaks.

As the air con if fixed by a contractor rather than Polars we have been lucky in that  they seem to come out quite quick.  Fill in the form on the polaris website and try to arrange an appointment for when you are next out, or arrange with your keyholder.

Hi John,

We had exactly the same problem with one of our units in the bedrooms.

Ours were Polaris installed as well.  It wasn't the first issue we had either.

But this issue had something to do with the wiring.  They had doubled up or miswired the unit.  So it was turning on and the temperature could be changed but it would never blow out cold air, just acted as a fan.  One of the tells we had was that the timer light came on...apparantley this can be an indicator of an issue with the unit.

Anyway we got Steve from Apollo Air in to look at it as PW weren't interested in doing anything.  Managed to fix it quick and very well priced.  "Rocketman" is the EOS handle for them.

This may or may not be the same issue.  It could be gas leak as mentioned.

We unfortunately have further issues with our air con and as PW again show no inclination to do anything after e-mails and visits to their offices we will probably need to get Steve in again.

Regards

Shanbe

Hi Linsinopril & Smv,

Thanks for your replies and advice.  It does sound like a gas leak or wiring problem. I've lost confidence on PW with regards to any trouble-shooting. I think I'll call on someone like Apollo Air whose van I've seen around the resort. I'm coming over for a long week-end come Friday and then back in October, I'll try and have the engineer up to have look then.

Many thanks,

John

Hi all

Had a friend stay at my apartment last week and he's told me that I seem to have a similar problem - my system is brand new & this is the first time it had been used.

The lounge & main bedroom are fine but the unit in the spare bedroom isn't blowing out cold air and is dripping water onto the floor.

My friend (who did an aircon course recently) seems to think its a problem with gas leaking - possibly caused by the system not having been sealed properly.

It seems that most contractors are pretty good at getting things fixed...with PW being the exception of course.

As I mentioned earlier we had a few problems and it took over 12 months to get PW back in to fix a unit they never installed properly in the first place.  The 2nd time I wasn't going to wait again.
