Paramount / Universal studios Murcia (Condado actually)

We used to holiday in Portugal

20 minutes drive time from Faro airport & never heard any  noise from the airport, we were also 10 mins drive time from a very large & popular water park.

@ no time were we bothered by the noise or the traffic.

If however the idea of  that Paramount will be building much closer to Condado & even, as some think ,will be actualy with in the confines of the Condado site. Well that might change things..

For those who bought to  rent out , maybe for financial needs rather than the luxury of having the apartment for occasional use. then I can see that they wuld benifit greatly.

I think at the @ the moment it is all speculation

& its no good jumping for joy or becoming upset untill we see it in print & it is proven to be a deffinate & not a possibility.

In the end I hope that some how, if it should go ahead , all of us,. no matter what our views on the matter are, are content with the out come

I understand Jill's comments and share them in some part. It's quite wrong to criticise someone for their opinion. As for the 'buying in Florida' comment that just relates to the commercialism rather than the reality of buying over there. We do like the rural aspect of this area and the fact it isnt congested. Any sort of theme park of this stature would bring money and profit into the area but something will be lost. I'm not expecting the theme park to be built on the land adjacent to La Isla but on the horizon and therefore feel its more acceptable. Hopefully all we would see is an increase in the number of people on Condado and then improvements to infrastructure and facilities. There's going to be few of us who actually have had the experience of owning or living on a busy well occupied resort so I think its hard to comment at what affect constantly changing neighbours may really have. If you bought to rent out and dont plan to spend much time here, then you are bound to see this from a monetary gain point of view and wont much care what residents/regular visitors think.However this is all still conjecture and we wont be asked our opinion so its a wait and see situation

I have collegues who live in USA, Canada,Latvia,Thialand, Spain and  Portugal and travel back to uk to work,  in my job you can live anywhere, I think you missed my point

I love the peace and quiet of Condado, the wonderful new friends I have made, and the lovely rural surroundings

I quiet man and allison understood what I meant, like everything there will be good and bad to come out of this,time will tell

I fully understand what you are saying, and like you I like the area as it is, and try and get over once a month, for some R&R, and am looking forward to meeting as many neighbours as possible, all I was trying to say was that it might encourage the complex to be finished, to bring it up to the standard we all expected when you brought off plan, and am sorry if you miss read my post.

I think a 'Ghost Train' is just the ticket to complete the ghost town of Condado!  I think a 'Log Flume' might be pushing it though lol

Its a little less 'ghost town' at the moment. Whilst not heaving with people I noticed more comings and going of delivery vans and people generally.  I'm sure when people go over in the coming months they will notice more apartments taken maybe by full time residents, particularly the downstairs ones. i think the Spanish will be taking advantage of the good offers at the Banks at the moment.They also had people sitting outside 'The Clover' as well as a fair smattering inside whenever I popped in. Dont forget PW always advertised the fact that there would only ever be about 1/3rd occupancy at any one time even in the high season and with reuced sales that was bound to have dropped. In that respect the theme park would make a difference all year round.

It was stated somewhere that a decision would be made at the end of April so would not expect any further updates until at least then. That's if of course, the rumours are true. It could still be another fanciful rumour like the one started years ago about Disney land coming to the area, which they say was started by Estate Agents to sell more property. But the man in government says he has a letter, which was verified by members of the governments opposition party who had called him a liar.

Personally,

I would wait until 'the man from Del Monte' had said yes before getting excited.

You my friend have just confirmed what I first thought, and if that's a touch subtle for you then that's me laughing AT you and not with you :-D

And on that note...

This 'seems' to be the most recent info, but who can tell if there's any accuracy or not.

'Pedro Cruz was adamant during all the fuss which followed an announcement from Paramount that they were not looking at the Region of Murcia that he was in negotiation with Ruwaad who were the agency charged with development projects and that viability studies were still underway.'

So Cruz apparently has a letter from an agency that looks at options and opportunities for Paramount which is a little different than saying he has a letter from Paramount.

I'm not holding my breath on this one, because if you do a bit of digging on the internet to check the validity you'll find that rumours like this have been around for years and are applied to different regions in Spain.

I will however keep an open mind and file it for the time being in the same section as 'Promises made to me by Polaris World' :D
