New Year Sales in Spain

Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2010 to you all.

Does anyone know when the new year sales start in Spain? Is it the same as back home in the UK or are they usually later in January 10?

 Yes, they commence around the 10th or better said, the first commercial day after the Three Wise Kings feast.

In general, they certainly start a lot earlier than that on the Costa del Sol. Some are already underway, but I would expect the pretty that most shops will start now or perhaps more likely on the 2nd of January. The only exception to this will be Zara and its "sister" shops which as last year are likely to commence on the traditional 7th of January.
