Our Ist direct debit for electrcity worked out at about €2,50 a day for the time we have been in the apartment.  Unless you have got a PO box then I don´t think that you will get your bill as apparently Endesa only send them to the  property address. Does anyone know different? We  have tried finding out where our post goes but without success;the PO told us that our Administrator should register our address at an office opposite Lidels.The lady at our bank told us that even if our address is registered the PO don´t deliver to individual boxes at an Urbanisation.I don´t know if this is correct.We shall pursue this........

Has anyone received an actual bill? We have seen Berta´s and hers worked out about the same.(She has her post delivered to a box at the PO)It´ll be interesting to compare amounts.

The sun still shines here. Padel tennis is fun. The vino tinto still tastes good.    Off to the Chinese tonight!

Noticed today that 26 Euros came out for the electric at the end of November.  Is that from a meter reading?

As for post, the Post Office down by the back of Mercadona has a box of letters out the back.  We went in a year ago with our passports to see if we had any letters.  There were letters in the box for others, but not us.  We will give that another try at Xmas.

Hi All ,

Having read the latest on electric bills have just checked bank account and Endesa have taken out €21.05, can only assume this is there standing charge as it seems to fall in line with what other people have been charged  and as we have not been out there to use any electric it can only be the standing charge, that was for the full month of Nov it seems rather high when you take it over the year but I surpose there is nothing we can do about it  just pay it , I wonder what the standing charge is going to be for the water.

Change of subject has anyone else received there T/V ? last time Ispoke with the sales office all they would tell me is that they are waiting for them to come from head office, I think head office must be on the dark side of the moon the time it has taken mabye they are going to present them as a Christmas surprise( That would be a surprise)

See all of you who are out there over the Christmas / New Year.

Robbie / Barbara

Hi Robbie and Barbera

I just returned this morning had three lovley sunny days. On my return today i received my bank statement noted was the electric bill of 31 euros i stayed one week in Novemer. I too hope that most of that was a standing charge other wise its a bit steep. Has anyone else received bills. The TV's did come in November unfortunately i was told not eligible for one. Good luck

Hi all

I paid 31.50 euros for November.  I did stay 5 days in November and I had the electric running whilst I was not there.

I also have received my TV!

I think the TVs are gradually being delivered to the office but you need to be there at the right time to collect them.(And have the paperwork)

Our DD was €14,37,so they can't have read the meters as we were there all the time you weren't Ken. Our cupboard was unlocked so we'd been taking the reading every day so we might eventually be able to check it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Can't wait to get back out on Thursday

Good Morning. I can explein you what is going on:  According with the spanish law, the have to send the electricity bill every month, but the do not  a real reading every month, only each two, so one month there is no reading, is an average.

Hi All

Just wanted to run this by you all.  Below is a list  of payments taken from my bank account Endesa for the electric.

23/10/2009  £                 247.09
27/11/2009  £                  30.95
30/12/2009  £                  18.93
05/01/2010  £                  21.09

The apartment has been empty since 16 Nov, when we switched the switch and cut all electric running in the apartment.  I don't understand why it has risen for Jan 2010.  When no one has been there.  Have any of you had a similar experience??

Tracey,

We have paid out as follows:

10 Nov   187.82

27 Nov    26.60

2 Dec      3.71

30 Dec    14.37

5 Feb       47.97

Bridget was out for 5 days in early November and we had 12 days over the New Year so ours are probably about right.  I have been trying to find out how much a unit costs, but no luck yet.

I also don't know how we get our bills because the post office are returning all arenal mail unless you get in there for the 15 days they hold it.  Found that out in January.

Paul

Hi All

With regard to elec bills these are what have been taken from our account , bearing in mind that we did not stay there between Sept and the 23rd Dec 09  we then stayed up to 13th Jan 10  and even if it was cold the last D/D they took seems quite high, although we did have 2 heaters on as the A/ Con was not working, I wish we could read are own meters I have tried to get a key for the electric cuboard but had no luck (any good lock pickers out there ),

Bills so far,

09.10.09 = 247.00

28.10.09 =  6.11

27.11.09 =  1.00

27.11.09 =  21.11.09

30.12.09 =  18.93

05 .01.10 = 128.47

I have no idea how the come to this figures and it seems that you can never find out , but if it keeps on going up at this rate it will become to costly to turn the A / C in the winter ,we are not due out untill end of March will just have to keep checking D/D,

Cheers

Robbie / Barbara,

Our A/C was also knackered (again) and we had 2 x 750watt oil filled heaters for the 12 days.  Seems hard to beleive you used more than double the leccy we did as I assume we were billed for the whole period last week as we didn't arrive until the 28th December.

We also used just over 100 units in the time we were there.

Hi Pdrich1

What was the total number of days you spent there as our bill compared to yours does seem rather high  I wonder if it is the type of heaters we are using we have the electric fan type,even if they are dear to run if you take of the standing charge it still works out at around just under £5.00 per day which to me is very high,the only thing I can do is to try again and get a key and get a copy made if anybody gets hold of one could the please make a few copies as I presume they are all the same, as we need to keep a check on this,

Cheers

Robbie / Barbara

HELLO. I think the bill is correct. I believe that the structure of the invoice is different here in Spain.  First of all, the price of electricity has increased since 1st of january. Second. There are three parts in de invoce, two of them fixed and the other variable. The first depends on the powoer you have contracted. the more power yoy have the most expensive is this fixed cost. Second: Another cost is the meter and the line. The third: What you have consumed, but there is one month in which is nor real, it is estimated ( and average). Any way, every thing is electric: the water, the fan, the cooker. A tip: If you dont switch off the electricity, the device for hetaing the water will remain going on and heating, and it is very expensive.

I have red all of you readings and seem normal  to me.

Finally, only the ocmpany has the key of the meters lock. Nobody can have one.

Many thanks Carlosb for the explanation.  Makes more sense now.

I noticed Robbie that ours was very similar.  Our first payment same (247.00) and our December payments were the same. My November payment was more due to us being there for four days and yours was more for January due to you being there.

Paul yours seems to be a lot less than both of ours are you on a different rate or have you a special arrangement with Endesa??
