Phase 2 deposit refunded

Good news - we've just received a cheque for all the money we paid as deposits plus interest, which is such a relief. We're not investors, we wanted the finca for our family but after 5 years of waiting we felt we couldn't wait any longer.  Thanks to an absolutely brilliant solicitor called Montse we didn't have long to wait before getting our refund, once the agreed completion date had come and gone.  Our original solicitor was hopeless and we got Montse's details from another Eye on Spain contributor, Sunlover and we're so glad we used her.  She is very efficient, answers emails promptly, speaks English and actually does what she says she's going to do - and is very pleasant to deal with. Her fees were fair and reasonable and worth every penny. We had a bank guarantee but we still weren't convinced we would get our money. I'm not sure if she can help people without bank guarantees but it would certainly be worth asking her.

Hi, I'm sorry I can't give you any names of people at the Cam bank as we didn't have any direct dealings with the bank.

Our solicitor sorted it all out and I don't know who she dealt with. If you're using a solicitor they should approach the bank on your behalf. Good luck, hope you get your refund if that's what you want.

Can't really see the point of people posting on here to tell everyone they got their money back if they are unable to provide contact details at the bank - seems the underlying reason for these posts are to advertise the services of lawyers.

I'm still not convinced anyone has their money back yet - prove me wrong please.

I agree with jeff2. If anyone has really received a refund then they must have contact no's. I have purchased on phase1 and have not heard officially of any refunds. So come on prove it!!!

I recently sent a private message to SUNLOVER she replied with her phone number where she lives in France, she confirmed she had received her deposits for two properties on Phases 1 and 2, she gave me the details of her contact in Spain who acted on her behalf and she was very upset she was not going to get her retirement home, she also confirmed another couple she had spoken to had also received their deposit back on Phase 1.

If you want your money back you need to sort out some-one to act on your behalf now!, if you private message me I will pass on the details I have.

I posted details that I have got my money back and that I was an Aramis client, because I thought it may be of help other people in the same situation as me, as it caused me many sleepless nights. 

I reserved my properties - plots 538 phase 1 and plot 486 phase 2 in 2004.  One for my retirement and one for either rental or resale.  I have  visited the development on many occasions and would have loved to have made this beautiful place a home for my retirement, since I reserved I had a heart attack and now have to see a cardiologist (sometimes on a weekly basis), it has meant because of the long delays I do not feel I can wait any longer for a retirement dream that may never materialise for me.

I do not benefit financially in any way from passing on details of my lawyer to anyone who it may be of interest to, I am just grateful to her that she was able to help me.  I was in a position that I needed an English speaking Spanish lawyer and Montse was recommended to me by another Spanish lawyer who could not help me because of a conflict of interests - I passed on her details to another couple -eddie who have also had their money refunded.

I do not know if Montse can help people without bank guarantees and as eddie has said I also do not know who my lawyer dealt with at Cam bank.  I do know it was more than one person, because apparently the manager who first approved my refund was replaced and Montse had to go through the proceedure again with another manager.  As Whitney says, if you want your money back you need to act now whatever lawyer you use.
