ZURICH INSURANCE RENEWAL (Polaris)

I took the PW policy with Zurich when I completed last July.  Has anyone else had their renewal amount quoted or taken yet?  Mine is due next week and I haven't heard a cheep from anyone so assume they will take it from my bank account.  Obviously if they intend to increase it by a vast amount I won't be too thrilled (it was 224 euros last year).  Does anyone know how much it is this year for a 2 bed Jardines apartment?  Thanks.  Arlene.

Is that for the building and contents, or just buildings insurance. 

We took ours with Zurich (through Polaris) last year and, like Arlene, ours is also coming up for renewal in the next couple of weeks.

Thats Buildings and contents. Thought it was a good quote, its slightly hirer for rental properties but not that much.

Hi Jane - Many thanks for the info. I will try to get hold of them on Monday.  The Zurich policy is pretty comprehensive with little or no excess.  Do you know what excess there is (if any) on your policy?  Sounds good though. Thanks again, Arlene.

Just checked there is a £150 excess.

Just checked my bank account and Zurich have taking out this years money for policy renewal, it was 224.62 for 3 bedroom. They took it out automically, did'nt get a reminder, it was only when I saw your post that I had a look at bank completly forgot about insurance with all the other talks about tax's and community charges, so thanks for reminder

Mine has also been debited - no reminder, so too late to start shopping around, but I will certainly do so before the next payment is due!!  Good spot Arlene.

Just remembered reading this thread, friends of ours discovered that in order to cancel their insurance they needed to give three months (I think) notice! They had no idea until they decided not to renew with that company, then found they had no choice but to renew with them another year. I think it was with their bank, but I'm not sure which bank that was.

This thread has just reminded me to read our small print in the next month or two!!!

I e-mailed the PW insurance office a few days ago as my renewal date with Zurich is today. They replied confirming the renewal is done automatically, and that the renewal documentation has been sent to my mail box at Condado.

I called Sergio at PW insurance the other day and harrangued him a wee bit.  Ended up with 2 options on Zurich.  €189 with a €150 excess and €211 no excess (was due to be debited at €229 - so a bit saved).  Handy info for anyone due to renew and worth a call to ask for the discount.  Arlene
