Hi

We have some people who are not familiar with the area staying in our apartment in May and they are arriving at Gibraltar airport.  We have never landed in Gibraltar ourselves, does anyone have any directions to DV from Gibraltar airport they could share with me or is there any specific things to look out for.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Are they hiring a car or taking a taxi?

When they come out of the airport in Gib they turn right and walk about  200 metres to Spain via Gib Police, Spanish Police and thru custom shed.

Out of the shed to the main road and on the right is a taxi rank. 3 years ago it was 32 euros to Manilva.

Come out of the Airport and turn right

Cross the border from Gibralter into Spain (La Linea)

Cross the main road and carry straight on past the new bus stops and in about

150 metres you will see a sign for an underground car park. This where the hire

cars are collected. Ensure that you leave the car park, by the same entrance

and at next road after the one you have walked down turn right and go back up to the

main road and turn right.

With the sea to your left drive along the coast road following signs to Algeciras/Cadiz

carry straight on over 5 roundabouts and through the outskirts of the old part of town.

Then straight on at next 2 roundabouts and following signs to Malaga/Estapona

take right junction onto A7.

When you reach GUADIARO follow white signs (Junction 132) Malaga/Estapona

and bear right onto the A7. Take first exit on roundabout and at next roundabout take

second exit up the hill (signposted Malaga/Estapona/ Manilva).

Continue on this road until you reach Puerto Duquesa.

Turn right down towards the port and at junction turn left and pass under the bridge

under the main road.

At the junction turn left and then turn right up the hill.

At the T junction turn left and then follow the road to the top of the hill and DV is on the right at the roundabout

Spanish post codes cover a large area so they only useful to get to within a few kilometres.

Your sat nav should show latitude and longitude, so use the post code to get close and head for

North 36 21 37.81  West 5 14 40.88 this is the roundabout at the entrance.
