Petition to the Governor of Banco de Espana

Some of you will already have seen this  petition which is going to be delivered mid january to the governor of the Banco de Espana, Miguel Ordonez. The aim is to highlight just how many people have been affected by the off plan property laws and cannot get their money back despite having a bank guarantee.

Information can be found on gopetition.com and you can add your signature online. I was surpised that only 88 people have signed which is very disappointing because if we want the governor to take any notice then there has to be lots of people signing. Don't forget that if you are a couple, you can both sign.

It is time that the governor of the banks was held to account for what basically is a legal shambles. We have said from the very beginning that there is no point having any laws in Spain if the Spanish banks and developers  do not operate within the law. You will all know that saying these things over and over do not make any difference. We have to do all we can to make them aware that we have had enough of this and  want some justice. The Spanish want us to give up and go away but we need to expose all of their corrupt ways of doing business . Until they are held to account, we will never get our money back.  

Michael Cashman MEP has signed the petition. He did not offer any help when I wrote to him a year ago but apparently he is now showing some interest because of the large number of people with the same problems with their bank guarantee.

I've just attempted to sign the petition via gopetition as suggested.  I chose Europe, then Spain but there did not seem to be a relevant petition there.  What am I doing wrong?

The easiest way is to log on to the spanishpropertyinsight site. Then look under spanish property forum. You will see a thread called Bank guarantee problem? are you involved in one?  . Look on page three , there is a post by someone called roots, in here is a direct link to the article, it is called Buying off plan in spain. Scroll down and there is a blue box where you can click to sign.

I've just been reading that a petition I signed a while ago was delivered to Downing Street yesterday . It is a petition about people who are having problems getting their money back, for those with or without a bank guarantee. Hopefully this will be good publicity for us.

The lady organising the petition is called Suzanne and she has worked very hard to bring our poblems to the attention of the European Parliament. Apparently it is not too late to sign, so go on, give this woman some support !!

She has been successful in bringing about discussion about Spanish property problems at the EU and yesterday it was announced that the  'EU is threatening to freeze funding to Spain unless real estate abuses are not brought to an end.' The article about this can be seen on typicallyspanish.com. The Spanish might have to listen now, they rely heavily on EU funding to build their new roads etc.  It even says that funding might be stopped on projects that are already underway.

You can see the information on spanishpropertyscandal/petition. If you are a couple, sign for both partners. We have got to make ourselves heard .

103 signatures so far ! I have just seen a post where someone has had his bank guarantee case through the court three times, first he was awarded his money, but the bank didn't pay up. Now the court has reversed the decision and the bank has won the case --- incredible isn't it !!

Please sign if you are wating to take the bank to court, we will only have a voice in large numbers.

You can sign even if you do not have a guarantee. If you look at the column where people have left comments to 'View' you will see that some people do not have a guarantee.

Any news from the solicitors ??  Ours is doing his reliable ' out of the office ' routine. Bet he can  be  contacted   easily when he needs money from us !!

Hope you have all had a good new year and managed to forget about our troubles for a little while.

This week I am writing to remind Huma and the banks that we are still here and still waiting for our money in 2009 !!!!  I know they have no conscience and don't care what we think, but I am writing to them anyway.

The petition to the governor of spanish banks is going to be delivered the last week in January. 129 people have signed and there is a good number of Huma  purchasers. If you haven't seen it, the governor issued a statement in August 2008 that said

'The bank of Spain must pay out in full if the developers are in breach of contract'.  So let us remind him that he has made this statement and should be keeping his word !!  The petition will be showing him the number of people like us who are being treated appallingly by his banks. So please, please sign if you haven't already.

The organiser of this petition has got some national press coverage coming out soon.

There is also a letter going to 78 MEP's  on January the 9th which reminds them that they still haven't taken any action in the European Parliament. We have to hope that if we keep on and on, they will eventually take notice.

We need all the support we can get.

We ALL (everyone single one of us owed money by this developer) need to continually write and persurise for what is rightfully and legally ours. OUR REFUNDs held dishonestly and falsely by this company.
