The community has insurance, but you need to insure your own appt (the inner side) and the contents. The company we used is very good: Spanish and English conditions, 24/7 support and they fix the things at their costs so you don't to organize it yourself.
Price will be between 160E and  190 Euros per year for a two bed apt. depending on the value of your contents.
The contact we have speaks very good English and is very efficient. She knows the Don Juan complex by now so she doesn't have to ask you all the questions again.
PM for more info. EOS doesn't like advertisements so I refrain from it.

I was asked to clarify what is covered by the community insurance and what insurance we as owners need. It is quite complex but the situation is this:
Th structure of the buildings is covered by the community insurance. However the plumbing etc in each apartment is not so if the apartment above mine had a water leak the community insurance would repair any damage to my apartment but not the burst pipe or water heater. If the water damage was accidental (you left the bath tap open and the plug in) the community insurance would repair the structural damage but claim the cost back from the owner (or his insurance if he was covered).
So we need to have our own contents insurance, sufficient buildings insurance to cover kitchen, bathroom, plumbing etc and I will also be asking about accidental damage insurance when I renew.
