A week to go.....help with finding an Apartment

Last week I stayed in apartment. We're in Block 4 in garden apartment. The smell of raw sewage coming from the bathroom en-suite was so obnoxious I had to move out and stay in a hotel for the last two days. Even with the bathroom door closed, sleeping in the main bedroom was impossible. I stayed a few weeks ago and it was the same, but I though it might have been temporary. Is anybody else experiencing similar problems?

We have had this problem with the smell in the bathrooms from day 1. We are also on garden floor level. It is not just this level that has the problem. I know Mozza who is in our block, 3 floors up is even worse than ours. They have also had this problem since day 1. There is obviously a problem with the sewage system. Who it is down to to repair this, I dont know. Is it the developer ? Is it the community ? I would have this at the top of the list of things to get fixed. God only knows what the smell will be like when the weather warms up to 35 celcius. Maybe we should change the name to Don Juan Sewage Plant Complex. How many others have this problem.

We had this problem when we were in the apartment but we fixed it. This happened after giving the place a good clean. If you go in the bathroom you will see a circular metal lid on the floor somewhere near the toilet that lid is covered by blue cling film to protect the chrome finish, in my case when i pulled the film off during the clean the whole lid came off in my hand and i could not get it to fit again properly. The next day we had the foul smell coming from that bathroom, I managed to get hold off the guys doing the snag and he came and dismantled the lid and reassembled and refitted the lid so that it fitted tightly and since then voila! no more smells! This is the first thing to check if you can pull that lid up with your hands then most probably that is your problem. Speaking of smells does anyone have cooking smells coming from the master bathroom? I find that when we turn the cooker hood on the smells come out from the air vent in the master bathroom (in a 2 bed apartment). The whole point of a cooker hood is take smells out of the apartment not to distribute it to another room...............oh well another thing to sort out when we are next there.

Hi i am on the ground floor 2 bed room and gorden told us when he put are shower screen up that he could smell a bad smell last time we where there but are metal plate is not loose bye irene /peter

We have had this problem but from the kitchen. Is was from the drain prepared to the diskwasker. I temporary
sealed the drain and the problem was solved.

Hi everyone with bad toilet smells

We have had very unpleasant smells in our apartment from day one but  - Wetakecare - ( Saskia and Max ) have dealt with the problem for us - They arranged for a builder to establish what was wrong and got it fixed

Aparrantly the toilet pipes were fitted incorrectly and it has now been resolved - Max states that all he can smell now is the abundance of air freshners we scattered about before we left !

Really looking forward to staying there now and we can sympathise with anyone with the same problems because it was very unpleasant and I was tempted to leave and stay in a hotel also
