Hi, just a quick question. When we snagged our apartment there were quite a few cosmetic problems like paint all over the wood,patio etc. There were at least two pages of work to be done and the rep for PW said that it would all be done within a month. The question i have is do Polaris sent you out confirmation that the snagging has been rectified or do you have to chase them when you get back to your apartment?? Has any one gone through this??

We were told snagging was finished on 3rd October....we flew out (by coincidence) on the 5th......I confirmed to Polaris on 6th that there were 15 outstanding items and that as I was in Spain I wanted them complete so I could move in.......no movement until last Thursday when I had another email saying that the outstanding items were complete.....amazing considering we had been in the apartment and the only things off the list we had done ourselves.......the email and discussion at the onsite customer services was "interesting".....since this we have had all bar two complete (these are what I would call secondary snags - issues created by resolving original issues)......simple message, don't necessarily assume the emails!!!

Hi guys

Yes Polaris do send out an e-mail confirming that the snagging work has been completed. We have now conducted many 2nd snagging visits and most of them have not been completed to our satisfaction. This then means further delays as the unfinished items have to be sent back to the snagging department and the work rescheduled. We are also finding in some cases that the builders cause more issues during the snagging process itself.

I would strongly advise everyone to make sure that they check the snagging work carefully once Polaris have stated that it is complete and do not assume that this is the case. If you are planning on having furniture deliverred then make sure that you have checked the property first before you arrange for the delivery and installation of items.

I too received an email saying that snag works had been completed, but I could tell by not even going inside that it hadn't been done correctly...Defo don't take their word for it, as you'll more than likely be disappointed, especially if you're planning to move furniture etc. in. Geoff
