Hi all,

Just completed on our apartment.  Number 65, think we are block 2, apologies if we are not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are arriving on Sunday 19th October and staying until 29th.  Furnishing in the first few days and hopefully relaxing for the rest of our stay!!!!!!  Any hints, tips, furniture stores ect would be appreciated.
Look forward to meeting everyone who will be there.

Welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have. One major tip stay calm when shopping and don't fall out. Ikea is as frustrating as at home but you can get a lot in one store. Word of warning though if considering Ikea beds measure bedrooms first. Some Ikea beds are oversized and won't fit (as we found out,) returned goods!!! The large Carrefour in Torrevieja is good for most things,Behind the Carrefour is the Habinerous shopping centre, downstairs is AKI similar to B&Q where you will get curtain poles shower screens light fittings (don't forget bulbs) . Make your list now and you will be surprised what you need especially deep pockets!!! Ikea not open Sundays. Have fun .Don't expect to do it all in a couple of days
Light fittings and beds first. Turn all the electrics off first as they are all on the same circuit when doing your lights.

Hi Ian & Dee

If you are arriving in the day you may not get any lights fitted straight away so I suggest you buy a couple of table lamps. If you are arriving late pack a few candles and a lighter or you may find it difficult to do anything. We had a furniture package which was great for us as it was all done for us . We used a company called Arca which is in Torrevieja and can usually deliver within a day or two at the most. Someone else who we met ,( Marie ) went to a store in Guadamar and got a lot of her furniture & lighting from there and it was really reasonable. If I can help you with anything else please e-mail me or post a reply. We will be over half term week 27th Oct so hopefully we will meet up before you fly back. Lots of great people at BDM who will all help you and you will meet up with them and see for yourself, It  has already started to be a great community.

Regards

Hi

If you, or anyone else for that matter, wants some bunk beds, please let me know. We made some mistakes when furnishing our apartment. First of all, we got two singles for our second bedroom and our second bedroom is smaller than everyone elses, so they didn't fit. So we then panicked because my family were going to use our apartment for Christmas and we needed beds for children, so we bought the bunk beds (nice grey metal from Carrefour). They worked a treat, but caused chaos when my sister and her husband came to stay (they are, after all 70+) and I'll leave the rest to your imagination!

We tried the two single beds in the main bedroom and the double bed in the second bedroom, but for anyone who has tried to keep two single beds together in a 'normal' relationship... well again, I'll leave that to your imagination.

So when we were over last weekend. We reclaimed our double bed and put one signle back in the second bedroom. That leaves us with one single bed and the bunk bed frame, so, back to my original comment... if anyone's interested in making us a small donation for the bunk bed frame and one single mattress and/or one single bed frame, please e-mail. You can always check the goods out in advance as I can ask our lovely key-holders to let you in in our absence.

The advantage of having a smaller second bedroom by the way, is that our kitchen and living room are a bit bigger. When we move out there, we're going to make the second bedroom into an office anyway, so who cares!!!!

By the way, for those who don't know us, we're not in Brisas, we're in Mar Y Sol.

Adios y buenas noches

Irene
