I resemble these remarks.
We need to keep the place as a 5* resort, no room for riff raff or cheap lager swillers, however posher people who get tipsy on wine, Pimms and champagne are more than welcome.
As for my orange jumpsuit with personalised number plate, then I'll dry that inside............. don't worry

We completed a month ago via POA and our solicitor only sent us a the contract in Spanish. Where did everyone get their copy of the rules and regulations from, as we are going to stay in our apartment on Monday for the first time and it would be nice to know what rules we may or not be breaking.

When we were over in February the show apartment pergola's had sunshades in various colours- orange being one. The guide told us that had been done as a mark of celebration (and it obviously looks more sparky on the adverts than cream or white) but we will only be allowed cream or white screens on the pergola's- because this would create a classic look. However she did not mention sun umberella's so maybe we can at least be individual there. She said the community would be maintaining the various rules but Polaris may step in if an apartment was seen to be 'letting down' the resort as the 5* element was important to the residents and to Polaris. Can't see how this could be Policed as it would be difficult to get someone who has spent over 1000 euro's on a brightly coloured sun screen to take it down and must lead to a protracted arguement. But that said- from our couple of visits to La Torre and from the adverts we have looked at recently whilst booking an apartment there it doesnt seem to be a problem with that resort.
Do you think these rules form part of our contract- rather than in addition to them- so there's some element of breach of contract if someone goes against them and wont conform?

Hi all ,
On the question of outside lighting and the residents association, most of us who have completed probably went out and ordered our lighting for inside and out on the same day, as there was no light fittings as standard on the outside as we were led to believe there would be for the sake of keeping the apartments looking uniform on the outside, so most people will have fitted the outside lights before any residents association will be formed.
Somehow I dont think that people will be replacing these possibly very costly lights in 6 months or a year from now on the say so of a probable spanish majority run res accociation.
What does everyone think of that,
Opinions of sober people count as double, ,,,,,,,,,unless you live on jardine 4 like me, ha ha hic ha

What do you mean by "Probable Spanish Majority" ? . Are you thinking that because a lot of ' Residents ' maybe Spanish that they will be voted on by majority ?
I think that the amount of Brits that have bought - and all having an equal vote on who will and who wont be elected, then I think the ' Majority ' will be in our favour, if there is any Majority at all.
Just my personal opinion, and from reading the forums I think people want a fair standing in the ranks of votes and rules & regulations. Because most British will be non- resident I feel they will definately want someone that can stand up and ensure that all is fair in their absence. I think the last thing we need is to be dictated to unfairly by a majority that wont even take our views into consideration.

Hi all again,
Didn't mean to upset anyone, I am ignorant as to how these associations are formed and what i have said was based on what I was told when we were out in october last year , most of the apartments were sold at that point and I was told that almost 50 % of the purchasers were spanish,
Anyway the point I was trying to make was that regardless of what the nationality of the association members is ,that most people will have bought and fitted their outside lighting and I dont think that they should be made to change them,
I mean ,would you expect an elderly couple living full time in one of the Jardines to pay towards upgrading playgrounds for other peopls children ( including mine ) I dont think so,
Now i'm going up to my room and i'm not coming down until I say sorry for upsetting people,,,,,,,,,,,, cry cry hic cry

Shampers nd Carol - Are you two going to be around, together any time soon? Weekend of 12th September would be good, really don't want to miss this comedy double act live. LOL - Regarding the community association - just make sure, when it comes round, to get your votes in for who you would like to represent you. And finally Barry and Sue, we all know that's the simple answer, but this is so much more fun. And occasionally we get a good idea.

Just wiped away the last of the tear streaks,
Is there any chance anyone of ye will be be over there from october from 7th to 14th ,We will be coming over to kit out the apartment then, the big furniture items will be in place in the next few weeks and we will be finding all the small bits and pieces during that week.
Actually Carol , my Wife Fiona and our two kids and her mother will be renting an apartment on Jardine 13 for the week and I will be staying in our own apartment on Jardine 4 so there is a good chance we could bump into each other coming and going to the shop/bar etc , now that I think of it I might end up navigating the way home for champers some night , that could be fun/interesting.

I will be living there as of next weekend, think Shampers is due to go over Oct to Furnish his apartment.........and no doubt have a wine tasting evening at the local Watering Hole, amongst other things that I dare not even think about just now, with all the talk of voting - we may hear the BiG Brother Tannoy at some point -

I will leave you to navigate where ever you want to Ken as long as its not to my Terrace, take him home with you and watch out for the Fun Police on your way

Hi Ken, we're going over from the 7th to the 15th to furnish etc with our eldest daughter and her boyfriend so may bump into you, staying on garden 12, Debbie and Paul's place. Think Shampers is going to be there around this time so wine and beer tasting night to arrange. Carol can have a Pimm's.

Ken you're in big trouble..............apologies in advance
I am over on the 5th October, going home on the 11th (sorry Cuz, but you're safe for now)........... I have the greatest of intentions when I'm over to finish the apartment off, however I know what will really happen is a 5 day party, and no progress whatsoever ........... Ken, don't join me every day/night as the Princess Fiona may turn into an ogress and join the ogress-in-law round the cauldron at the J13 weekly covention.
My plan is between now and then is to get lights, shower screen and aircon & blinds complete, then just sort out all furniture when I'm there (washer/drier for me - I hate naturally dried towels - horrible things to dry my delicate skin with)............. but hey if its delayed a couple of years who cares, Carol can always cook for me and as for now Carol's is the local watering hole
As for regular visits, well they won't start till Spring next year as I'm in Egypt in Feb and the bin lids are off ski-ing in Feb as well, so I'll just have to keep stirring from Ol Blighty

Shampers - Who said it was me that posted that remark - It could have been Martine. BTW He is back out there beg of October playing golf further up the coast, but he probably will come down there on his day off to have another look, and hopefully we will have completed by then. I don't need to worry about you leading him astray, he can do that all by himself. I take no responsibility, all I'll say is, don't rely on him getting you back to yours.
