beach bar

What has happened to the beach bar on Mar Menor? 

We bought 12 months ago and it was definitely a selling point. They were going to bus and sail us to this utopia! 

I have not seen it mentioned in any threads (and I watch them all!). 

Also there was a rumour (not comfirmed definitely by PW) that we would also get a beach bar at Mazzaron which makes sense with a possible 20,000 homes. Our resort is bigger than the rest of Polaris put together!

Has anyone heard anything - anyone on site please ask!

When PW give something in writing it may well not be provided so I wouldn’t hold out much hope for a rumour, but its news to me, I have never heard or seen anything about this on Condado? And I have no idea about Mar Manor.

We also were told about the beach club on La Manga. The pw rep took us to Mar Menor and showed us where it was going to be. We have heard nothing since!!!  I know that pw are now building a few luxury pads round there. Could it be that they have now scrapped the beach club in favour of building properties on that plot????  wouldn't surprise me at all.

I too was told back in February 2007 by our agent about the beach club at La Manga with a free shuttle bus to and from the resorts.

Also the same agent said there will eventually be a free shuttle bus from Condado to Mazarron ( not necessary a beach club though).

I agree Phil unless it is in writing, we have all learnt the changes that can happen!!!  

Hey just thought maybe after this New Year party Carol's organising we could extend it to a free shuttle to the beach for a 
NEW YEARS DAY BEACH PARTY!!!!   (sorry Carol as if you haven't got enough on your plate)  We can be Condados Beach Bums!!!!

Just looking at brochure we got with penthouse appartment layout and info regarding Condado de Alhama and on the inside page entitled Close to the Sea at the foot of the mountains the map above showing the location of our resort  within the murcia region has in orange type within the Mar menor area the  words "BEACH CLUB". Could this be what you are talking about.  Hope this helps.

That's it Alison & Simon - well spotted - I knew I'd seen it in writing somewhere. 

Perhaps someone in La Torre or Mar Menor will know more about this if the read our forum.

There it is! Right in the middles of the map of Mar Menor.

Looks like it might be happening if the beach bar is on the website.  Shampers can you eat fire and limbo dance as this is the next venue for our get togethers (booze ups).  No need to catch a taxis if the shuttle buses are any good!

We remember something about this too- during our tour in Feb 2007 a beach club was mentioned and free shuttle bus to it and to Mazarron. There was also talk about shuttle buses to and from the new airport but I doubt they'd be free- maybe....we can only hope! I know they talked about shuttle buses to the other resorts but did they turn out to be only for golfers?

You'd think that the local bus companies would want to tap into the many people who will use Condado as well.

It looks like the ' Condado Beach Bums'  could be happening!  What do think Carol?

The beach bar idea would be excellent especially with transport. Although its yet another way Polaris will keep us from venturing away from their resorts and facilities- more echoes of 'The Prisoner'!!

We recently stayed on La Torre and I noticed the shuttle bus going to other resorts.  I think it is for anyone, there was a band on another resort one night and it was advertised drop off and return times.  

We were also told there would be shuttle buses to/from the airport and to Mazarron.

So you never know... beach bar here I come... can't wait to see the limbo dance

When I was over in early July getting my NIE number from Murcia the people who took me mentioned a Beach Club being built at Mazzaron specifically for Condado de Alhama. I wouldn't hold my breath to be honest

A google search came up with Polaris building six luxury villas at their Polaris Beach Club location they will be 'adjacent to the Polaris World Beach Club, with its range of facilities, such as bar, cafe, and sports amenities'- sounds good but do you think this is where they have really moved the Foro waterhole to!!

These villa's sound just a tad bigger than our apartments!!

Yes, i can eat fire (My ears were eating fire in Turkey at the barbers !!)........... it's called ''The Chicken Chilli Massala'' from my local Indian.

I do not Karoke or fall on my backside limbo dance, but i happily laugh at others who can't do it either  but seem to think so after a jug of the local brew...............

I all seriousness, then Jardines, Naranjos, Golf suites are just the start (do we total 3,000 homes ?) of the proposed 20,000. We are not even filling in the whole of the 1st golf course, so the extras such as Beach Clubs, Foros, 2 other golf courses will all be done after cash has been generated from property sales.

Condado could take 10 years to finish

oh and if anyone's really worried about me then whilst I do enjoy a good night out, I am very considerate to my neighbours ........... as I always return any plant pots, traffic cones and giant fibreglass fish (pint owed to the 1st person who gets that one) that I may find in my bedroom the next day

But seriously I expect the whole site (town) to take 10 years to be finished, it's a massive project and with the current economic climate then they may have to mothball some of the plans as a lot of resi developers have done in the UK this year.

Ah ha! Would you be talking about "Men Behaving Badly" by any chance? Filmed in Worthing/Brighton. Just down the road from us.

I don't think i'll see the completion, in ten years time my liver will have packed in.
