We have had Polaris connect the apartment to receive Internet and have checked the connection with another residents laptop. However,we can't get our laptop to receive the AreaNet screen. Its a relatively new laptop but we cannot seem to get it to receive the connection. We have tried it successfully at La Torre to receive the wireless signal.

Does any of clever techo people have any bright ideas?

Thanks

If you are running Vista then it is probably the security certificate for internet explorer.
One easy thing might be to use Mozilla Firefox for your browser rather than Internet explorer. It handles security certificates in a different way.
Hope this helps
Richard

Dont know if its different if you are on the Contract internet with PW, but I use the Areanet PAYG at the moment... and every time I have used my PC at HR and LT it always comes up Trusted Website Certification warning conditions...presumably on the Areanet Access website,  as 'not trusted' and 'not recommended'. when trying to connect to the internet.....I just 'accept' the website and it progresses fine. I guess I could go into the Tusted Websites functions and setup the Certificates etc to avaoid the warning....but I dont.

We're stayng at HR at the moment and I have seen exactly the same thing.

What you will probably need to do is disable your wireless connection (as there is nothing for it to connect to).  Then plug in the ethernet cable and you should be all set.  You may find you need to disable then re-enable your ethernet connection, so it can pick up a new IP Address.  Then you will probably get the trusted Website Certification Warning that Colin mentions.  I do the same as Colin and "accept".

Hope this helps

Jackie
