Learn Spanish

Hi all,
           although we completed in March we haven't had any time to actually explore the area properly and, as we are taking a holiday on HRGR shortly, would like to know if anyone can recommend any beached to visit ?

Any recommendations for restaurants, bars etc wouldn't go amiss either !

Is anyone staying on HRGR during the first two weeks of August  ?

Hi Paul, we just returned from a lovely stay in HR. There is a nice seaside resort at Los Alcateras, its down the AP 7 past the airport turn off, take exit 790. There is a very long beach with prom and many bars and restaurants. Its quiet during week but packed during the weekend  when the Spanish head for the coast.

Hello again Paul, sorry I forget to include some info about bars etc.
Sucina village is obviously the most accessible and we found that Franc and Louise bar on the main street was very good, clean, friendly and good value, also TV screens in english. Most of the British residents of Sucina seem to drink there. The wine bar, which is down the side road, between the Church and Quick Save, just round the corner past the new post office, this is also a good bar and serve pub food, Tapas during day and normal menu at night.
  For a sit down meal we used Rosario's on the Main street, up from franc and louise, which we found very good for a small village. They specalise in Paella, but other dishes are available. Chinese Wok restaurants are down at the Hispania shopping center , off the AP7 at airport exit and head back towords San javier a couple of roundabouts.
  La Torre has some more upmarket places and the free bus leaves HR at 7pm and returns at Midnight.

If you like curry you can goto Jaipur Palace which is a ten minute drive from HR going past Peralja golf, through Avileses & then Balsicas & over the motorway towards Roldan into the Industrial estate and your there.

To be honest it does the best Indian food i have tasted & they do a take away as well, take it back to HR and enjoy in your place.

Apparently they are opeing a Chinese buffet place next door but one in the next few weeks, which is very welcome.

Upstairs in Dos Mares shopping centre is good for Burgers, Pizza etc if you want something quick .

                                     thanks very much for your info'. Mozz, we happened across the Jaipur Palace when we were furnishing our place in May and I echo your comments. We also had a fantastic meal.
